I purchased this backwash hose to replace a conventional blue vinyl hose which immediately burst the first time I tried to backwash my filter. The GORILLA hose is tough and should last a long time. But, its diameter is too large for a standard 1 1/2 inch PVC pipe and too small for a standard 2 inch PVC pipe. It actually has a diameter of approximately 2 inches. By luck, this fits the outside diameter of a 1 1/2 inch to 1 1/4 inch PVC pipe adapter! I found this out through trial and error and just prior to firing up my heat gun to try to stretch the hose to fit a 2 inch pipe! So, not sure if the hose would actually stretch or just burn or melt. Finding the PVC adapter was lucky and a lot easier. See the installation photo...

Super tough material that will not rip easily. Its a little heavy to move around but totally worth it.

We needed to buy a new backwash hose that was at least 100'. We were told to buy a heavy duty one by our pool guy so I read reviews and decided to try this Gorilla one. It is definitely way more heavy duty than the blue hose we had. As others have said, it is heavy but since it's our pool guy who unrolls it & rolls it back up after he flushes our filter, the weight is not a problem for us. Our pool guy agreed it was a nice, heavy duty hose. So far, it unrolls nice and flat (without twisting) and rolls up easily too (as we've watched him do it).

This product was nothing like I thought it would be I had been looking for a drain holes for my pool and each year I end up buying those flimsy drain holes that punctures easily dry out but this drain hose It’s very durable, very sturdy very thick strong and a great value for your money because I believe you will never have to buy another drain holes for many years to come. You get what you pay for so why not buy something that’s going to last. All those $20 here and $20 there trying to find a decent holes you could have bought this product and you don’t have to worry about if the chemicals Is going to destroy, too strong for that I regret not buying this along time ago so I would rate this a five star plus and hope that this review well make up your mind you get what you pay for This is the best holes ever.

Iv’e tried different hoses in the past. GORIlLA is made sturdy and is reliable. Iv’e had mine for a while now and live in Florida and it’s a Superior brand. I have even bought their garden hoses. No kinking and easy to handle compared to other brands.

It never ceases to amaze me how people try to save a penny or two and sabotage a perfectly good product. This is the case with the Gorilla back wash hose. The hose itself it a nice construction and material, but the clamps they provide rust completely in a week. The only other knock is the hose is black and it will absorb the heat from the sun, so don't run it across the lawn and leave it there all day - you will have a yellow stripe by sunset.

needed a new 100 ft. hose for my above ground pool. i was looking for a better quality hose since it seems i buy a new one every year due to inequality. it is a heavy duty black hose. it does get hot so keep it off your grass if you don't want a line of burnt grass left behind. i would highly recommend this because i know this is going to last many years.
