Westin21-23835 PRO TRAXX 4 Oval Nerf Bars fits 2014-2024 4Runner SR5 TRD/TRD Pro (Exc Limited, Nightshade & TRD Sport) 2010-2017 Trail Edition Black Pair

Pros: looks great, sized correctly for the 2015 4Runner SR5 model. Took about 50 total minutes to do by myself (once I got the right hardware in place - see cons).CONS: the hardware, specifically the bolts, that came with it were not threaded accurately and there was some pretty bad slop that I noticed when putting on the first board. Keep reading. The way I found out about the slop (because who checks for that kind of stuff unless you're an ASE mechanic) was because one of the bolts legitimately snapped when tightening it down. Baffled by this, I checked the fit of the rest of the bolts and it was scary to think I'd have used bunk hardware if that particular bolt didn't snap on me. I ended using the OEM bolts that were already in place and everything ended up being fine, but be very careful and mindful of this if you plan on going with these boards.As I said, they look great, and they're holding up just fine with the OEM bolts which warrants a 3 star imo. But very sketchy that these came with crap hardware, and the instructions call for you to use them specifically.

Easy install they are a little low and I broke one of the cheap bolts off while installing and didn't even get too much pressure on it so had to remove it thankfully the head broke off and with a new 4Runner the threads easily gave up the bad bolt. I just used one the cap OEM bolts that were on the truck. Seems to work ok will check it later to make sure not lose.

Product was delivered in two days. Ordered through 4Wheel Online. Installed on a base SR5 4Runner 4WDInstallation is easy but there were a couple of things not mentioned in reviews.Tools you need12mm socket13mm socketSocket extension if your sockets are not long. Best to just have one.2x 10mm wrenches. One wrench should ratchet.You need more than a 12mm and 13mm socket. The plastic covers for the brackets also require wrenches/sockets for tightening. Two 10mm wrenches, one to hold in place and the other to tighten. One should ratchet as it’s a bit tight for space. Also, my 13 mm socket wrench, though just of average size, was too thick to fit over the 13mm bolt while on the bracket. There wasn’t enough clearance between the edge of the bolt and the edge of the bracket. I had to use an extension because I didn’t have a long enough 13mm socket. As others have mentioned, if you just reuse the original bolts from the car you won’t need a 13mm socket at all but you will still need a long 12mm socket or an extension. Or a slim tool.One last thing; the instructions are clear enough I suppose but they could be a lot clearer. If I did this again I can’t think of any reason I wouldn’t loosely preassemble each side and tighten everything up once in place. It took me about 90 minutes doing this alone getting up and down a lot. If I had preassembled I’d think the whole install would be well under an hour. Anyone could install these. It’s very simple.They are cheap, sturdy and look great. In the wet the step doesn’t slip at all. I didn’t think I would use them (installed for wife) but I actually do without thinking.

I just installed these yesterday on my 2018 4Runner. They look nice and installed pretty easily. I don’t like that they mount to the body instead of the frame and the tubing is thin walled. About 10 years ago I had installed Westin step bars on our truck, and they were much heavier duty, frame mounted units.

Ordered on Thursday evening and delivered Saturday before lunch in excellent shape and very well packaged. I was a little worried as we just bough a 2019 4Runner SR5 Premium and it showed up to 2019. Pretty sure there were no major changes, I placed the order. I can repost they fit perfectly, installation was super simple, all pieces were very clearly marked and in show room shape. For the money, this is potentially one of the best purchases I’ve ever made on Amazon! And in case I forgot to mention it, they look outstanding!

These bars are awesome and were somewhat easy to install. The package includes the bars, way too much hardware, and some plastic pieces to hide there the bars are connect to the truck. I installed these in about an hour once I had all my tools set up. Like a lot of people I used the original screws the truck comes with instead of the ones provided. I started with the passengers side and took me about 45 minutes once I figured out what I wanted to do, the passengers side took me about 15 minutes once I muscled it all in. If I did this again and had a helping hand its a 20 min job start to finish. I didn't put on the plastic covers, it looked like they sent me the wrong ones and didn't fit right (that's why I gave it 4 stars). I've had them for about 6 months now and even went off roading, still looking good and no problems.

Best investment ever. I have small children and vertically challenged so these nerf bars fit the bell. At this time it's all about function. This allows my child to get into the cabin without me having to lift her. It is sturdy. Great quality and build. The black (nerf bars) on black (truck) is a good combination. I installed these on my own and I am no mechanic. I have basic tools in my possession. It took me 2.5 hours to install and well worth it in the end.

The boards are very sturdy. A local body shop was going to charge over $100 to put them on. Decided to read instructions to see how difficult it would be. Wasn't too hard at all. Saved money by making it a diy project. Overall, the instructions were good. They weren't written on a "dummy" book level, but they were decent. The running boards should last the life of the vehicle.
