Great for chemo! Stays cold!
I purchased these for use with my chemotherapy. I am in taxol and the cold helps reduce the chance if neuropathy in hands and feet. I took them from the freezer into a small bag cooler with some ice. I didn't actually have my treatment for 4 hours later. They were still ice cold and lasted the entire hour of my actual treatment time. My only complaint is that you only get a SINGLE glove and obviously we have two hands. I felt that was misleading and bad business. Otherwise the product itself is worth it

Best find for chemo hand icing!
I was given advice to ice my hands and toes during Taxol chemo infusions to help prevent neuropathy. I easily found a lot of toe/feet icing products, but not a lot of solid-looking hand icing products... until I found this one. I had to scroll through many pages of results to find it, but it was totally worth it!As others said, they're so cold you may want to wear a pair of thin cotton glove liners. Also, I learned that before re-freezing the gloves after a use, it was best to direct the gel to a place in the glove that my own fingertips would be (rather than down at the wrist or up at the very tips of the glove). This product helped save my fingers. I got no neuropathy, despite receiving 12 infusions!

COLD! :-)
I’m a pianist with arthritis and general hand pain and strain. Coming out of the freezer, they stay cold for about 40 minutes. They’re very very cold so I wear a thin pair of cloth gloves also. Plenty a room to wear gloves inside of these cold mitts. Also there are large enough that I can wrap one around my sore knee. That’s a bonus! I have a significant improvement in my hand pain when I use them. I had previously been soaking my hands in icewater, so this is much easier. I’m happy with these.

Good, cold, flexible--not exactly what I needed
First things first: it gets cold. It's flexible when it is frozen, and it's VERY COLD inside the glove (wear cotton gloves or something to protect your skin).I got this for osteoarthritis in my right metacarpophalangeal join of my thumb. Despite the apparent thumb on the mitten, it's not really designed to work on that particular joint. In fairness, that is a difficult joint to accomodate, which is why I was looking for a way around it.

Too big for my large hands - avoiding chemo neuropathy
Even with tissue stuck under my finders inside these huge mittens, they don't really do the job. I bought two, and I do use them to try to avoid neuropathy with the chemo I'm on. As you can see in the photo, sometimes I just grasp a cold cel purchased in a drug store. Sometimes I put the cold gel inside the mitten - believe me, there's plenty of room! Doing the latter keeps my finger tips colder for longer, but I regret buying these, especially at this price. I have large hands - often have to buy men's size gloves. So if they're big for me . . . hope photo helps.

The best on Amazon
Got these along with a few other brands for my sisters chemo treatments. This brand was by far the coldest and lasted the longest. Don’t buy any other brands.

Causes more pain than it relieves
I have bone spurs in my hands that make compression gloves impractical but this thing is even worse. Straight out of the freezer, its vinyl surfaces are SO COLD that direct skin contact causes extra pain, requiring the addition of, I guess, another layer like an inner glove to protect my skin? But it's too snug (I have tiny hands and this thing is huge but it's tight) to do that so... I guess I have another little ice bag to put in my cooler when I travel, but I don't have a pain relief product.
