The plastic on the bottom will degrade from the weather eventually. I wish it had a rubber seal. It was roomy inside and looks like a real rock. I did not buy it to hide a key, I bought it to hide a 9 volt battery incase the garage door opener goes dead when I don't have the opener with me or the key to the front door. I locked myself out of my house by accident once and had to wake the neighbor up to ask her if I could borrow a 9 volt battery.

I was looking for a grayish colored natural looking rock as my key hider. This purchase did not disappoint. The key-rock is of decent size and has weight to it so it "feels" like a rock. My only suggestion to the manufacturer would be to have the key compartment cover not as close to the edge of the bottom of the rock as mine is. If you look really hard, you can see just a little bit of plastic on the bottom edge of the rock. I might take some scissors and snip off a bit of the plastic corner to make it really "vanish".

Product arrived on time, was as described in information/pix, and blends in and works well except that plastic backing is a bit loose and will fall out when the rock is picked up. Apart from that, we are happy with it.

Got this to match the natural rock, blends in so well I have lost it multiple times. Overall solid except for the key compartment as it's a cheap plastic tray that I feel could easily fall out.

This hide a key is a great match to a lot of rocks in the area (pacific northwest), however the part that actually holds the key leaves a lot to be desired. It would be much better if they put a swivel or something for the cover. they have a plastic piece that sets into the base of the rock but it's not tight enough to hold it in place so it just falls out if you pick up the key. If the rock gets moved around it falls out and I've had to dig around in the dirt to find the key more than once. appearance is good but function is extremely lacking compared to other hide a keys I've used.

I often struggle to find the correct rock, and that lets me know this was a solid purchase. It’s very obvious it’s not a rock from the bottom, but mix it in with some similarly sized/ colored rocks and you’re all good.

This rock works so well to hide a house key. All of our shrub beds have rocks of the same size and color family so it would be impossible for anyone to ever find it.

I really like this product. Gonna be honest though, didn't buy this for a key hider. bought it as a gag gift. My dad bought my mom jewelry for Christmas and we are gonna do our usual thing of pranks with Christmas gifts. We are gonna make her open a bunch of boxes and do other prankish stuff all for this rock with a note that says "come on now sweetheart, you think I made you do all this for a rock?! BRING OUT THE REAL GIFT!!" When she opens the real gift it will say, "well not that kind of rock anyway..." so yeah. Stay tuned I'll try to update how that goes.

My rock arrived a couple of days ago, and upon opening the package my first impression of it was good overall. It is about 80% realistic and upon first seeing it I’d say that if placed in a natural setting with other similar looking real rocks around it, then you’d have a hard time spotting the fake one in the bunch. It’s small things that really give it away….the uniform shape (it’s a bit too rectangular and flat looking), the speckles on the top are noticeably paint (if your looking at it and somewhat studying it), it’s texture (when holding/touching it) feels like it’s been painted with a flat sheen paint and doesn’t feel like a real rock at, the transition from the “rock” showing face to the flat bottom is too abrupt and doesn’t look natural (would be better if it was more rounded, gradual, and varied around the circumference, and when placed on a hard surface (cement, table, etc) it sits slightly unevenly and wobbles because the plastic insert for your key on the underside sticks out and overlaps the lip of the hole in order to give it a pseudo-seal. That all being said, however, the weight of it in your hand feels like a rock (even if the texture does not), if it’s placed in the dirt or somewhere that it doesn’t have to sit flat then it doesn’t wobble, and if it’s mixed in with other rocks that are similar in shape and colour then it does blend quite well. It would be a top contender if I needed to buy another one in the future, but I would probably still look to see if there were others out there that were a bit better.

Works great! Looks like a real rock. My only suggestion would be to add a plastic piece to slide over the holder so the plastic cannot fall out! Would buy again!
