real life crash report!
This is a quality helmet, love the shield held on with magnets. Looks great also, have noticed it is hotter than regular road bike helmet, but that is to be expected.UPDATE:I had a high speed crash about 60 days ago that resulted in a visit to the emergency room with a summer of recovery. I had multiple injuries and had commented that it was fortunate that my head had not hit the pavement. This past weekend was my first "back on the bike" ride. I had not seen the helmet since one of my riding buddies had picked up the pieces after the crash. The helmet was cracked even through the foam interior, plus the outside looked like it had been attacked with a hammer. All the while I assumed my head never was involved. Bottom line, ordered another one yesterday, can't say enough good things about this helmet!!!!!

Loved this helmet, until it melted...
Not sure what happened - I absolutely LOVED this helmet (have had it for over a year). It has good coverage while being extremely lightweight. I have a lot of hair but never had a problem with breathability. It works OK with a helmet strap for a top light (see photo). BUT BUT BUT, after being left in the sun for a couple days (and not even strong sun...we're NOT talking about the desert here), I noticed that the inner form of the helmet had melted and molded (see photo of how badly it deformed after 2 days).I wouldn't necessarily discourage a purchase of this helmet, but seeing how fast this got deformed (on accident) is somewhat scary. Will be purchasing something else, but probably not this one as the price-point is rather high. Pretty sad that it didn't last longer than it did.

Use only if exceeding 25MPH.
All the research says that changing to an aerodynamic helmet is the least way to improve speed: proper bike fit, (saddle height and size, bike size, stem post height), lightweight wheels/tires and clip-on shoes are first. At less than 20MPH, this helmet saves 2-3 watts of power and the increase in speed is not noticeable (a 1/10th MPH increase). But for a long century ride, this may save your leg power a bit. At over 25MPH, the savings in wattage and the increase in speed is more noticeable. There is absolutely NO AIRFLOW through these types of helmets. They are HOTTER than heck. I'll wear this helmet if less than 65 degrees and my cheap helmet, with 24 air vents, on hotter days.Otherwise, I like the style and the coloring (matches my bike). I've used the visor only a couple of times. Because I wear glasses, it's a little tricky to get the visor on over the glasses. Also, the visor has to pop off first before taking off the helmet ( a 2 step process.)

Piece Of Junk
Don't waste your money. I bought this helmet bsck in July and got a total of 4 uses out if it before the knob for the rear tensioner broke. It literally came off in my hand while I was trying to adjust it tighter prior to a ride. I had noticed on two prior rides that the ratcheting system was no longer working, but the internal fit band would at least still tighten; however, I would frequently have to reach back mid-ride to re-tighten it. Now, it doesn't do anything at all. Also, I never liked the fact that the sliders that adjust the side straps below your ears don't have a locking system to keep them in place -- you have to readjust them every time you put the helmet on. All in all, a THOROUGHLY DISAPPOINTING purchase. I WILL be returning this for a refund.

Good Fit, Great Price, Sub-Par Visor
I have worn this helmet for dozens of triathlons and hundreds of training hours. The helmet has a decent fitting system, with good padding that is very comfortable (bonus points for being removable to clean). The aero form factor for this price is really a value. My only disappointment is the visor lense; the vision is distorted and not very clear. Having to forego the visor definitely hurts the aerodynamics as well (a large part of why I bought the helmet). If the visor was better constructed, this would be a solid 5-star product.

Value Priced Entry Level Aero Helmet
Used in my first race over the weekend (July 17,2021), and was a great addition to my race day kit for my triathlon. Very light weight helmet that fits pretty good. The one thing that could improve it overall is a nose bridge pad. While I didn’t have too much trouble with it, it is not very comfortable if the visor is resting right on your nose! All said and done, great value for an entry level aero helmet.

Outstanding, light TT helmet at a great price
This is my second aero helmet and I couldn’t be more happy with the fit and feel. My previous TT helmet was heavy and had a long tail that I could tell was slowing me down when I looked down. This helmet is light, fits great and has a magnetic tinted visor. The helmet comes on and off easily (saving valuable seconds in transition) and the integrated visor is much easier (and more aero) than trying to jam sunglasses on. It is another great product from SLS3, which provides high level, quality gear at a reasonable price.

Good helmet, bad lens
Update 2021: This is my favorite helmet, but I really don't like the visor. I will buy it again if I ever crash.Good:Aero with good ventilation.I've never overheated with the white helmet.Replaceable visor search for "giro air attack shield lens"You look great with it on! Not joking! It is important!Bad:Visor optical quality sucks and the way it angles down does the visor does not fit my face. May work better for people who flat faces. IDW I wear regular sunglasses with the helmet.
