Couple of my 4x4 posts rotted at the base. I used these to fix them and so far they’re working flawlessly. Make sure you drive them in deep enough. I’ll update if they fail anytime soon but everything seems sturdy as can be. Plus my fence is on a steep slope.

My mailbox post seems to be original to the house from the 80’s and is starting to rot at the base. It was leaning over so much and so loose our mailman started putting the mail on our steps. This totally saved the post, well worth the money especially since mine had a concrete base so I would have to have that jackhammered out. Post now is straight and feels strong and sturdy. Just be sure you measure correctly, on my first attempt I hammered the stake in too close and when I brought the post back it was still leaning… and it is HARD to pull back out of the ground!!

I had previously used the one-piece fence post menders which were the only ones available on Amazon at the time. They were sometimes tricky to drive in straight in cramped quarters and were not cheap at $70 a pop (and even then had quality issues). This two-piece kit was much easier to install at a fraction of the price. All the parts appeared well-made, even the plastic level which was included. I didn't have to pre-position the fence post while the first part was being driven into the ground. Even the label with the directions on it peeled cleanly off the part. My only minor complaint is that the drill bit was fine for starting the holes, but lousy at actually drilling them; just use your own wood bit.

I've done a few live-in fix/flips the last couple of years and invariably one or more existing fence posts are rotted below the ground and leaning significantly. This is the best solution I have found to make the posts rock solid and perfectly vertical again.Kit came with all bolts, washers, a small level, pilot hole bit and even a hex bit so a drill can be used to tighten the bolts.
