I thankfully haven't had a choking victim on which to test this device, but I did run it through a few tests to gauge my comfort level with its usefulness in an emergency and I would absolute try this if I had to self-save while choking. Please understand that none of this is to be construed as medical advice. I'm not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV.The anti-choking device comes packaged in a plastic zipper bag, and each individual item is also wrapped in plastic in the bag. No plasticky aromas noted, so that's nice.You get the handle, with a bellows and one-way valves, and three masks. One of the masks is child sized and the other two masks are marked "Adult Medium" and are identical. One is meant to be used for practice, and the masks are identified as disposable. All of the masks use an inflated gasket to provide the best possible seal. There's no trick or secret to assembly, which is good - stick the mask in the bellows and give it a little twist to secure it. Assembly is quick, as it should be for a device of this type.My first test was to fit the adult medium mask over my own face and seal the air hole with my palm to determine if I could pull a vacuum. No joke, my head is pretty large, and I have facial hair, and it was difficult to create a good seal. I eventually was able to do so by applying a slightly painful amount of pressure. I suspect if I was choking, I wouldn't mind all that much.I next tried it on my wife, who has a more average-sized noggin and (thankfully) no facial hair and was able to get a good seal relatively quickly with only moderate pressure. The speed at which we achieved a seal was evidenced by how quickly she panicked, which I'll take as a good sign in this case.My kiddo was also interested in what was going on so I repeated the same test on them with the child-sized mask. My child, unfortunately, takes after me vis-a-vis head size, and the mask was nearly too small, although it got the job done. The adult medium also worked for this test. Good to have options.Finally, to test to the effectiveness of the one-way valves and suction-generating ability, I placed the device against multiple surfaces, evacuated the air by pumping once, and then letting go. The device stuck to my wall, my fridge, my palm, the back of my (bald) head, and finally, over my face, although it let go relatively quickly on that last crucial test.Overall, I'm pleased with this device. I'm leaving it assembled with the adult medium mask attached since that fits all of the household members.

This is a simple two-part device consisting of a bellows that has two 1-way valves. When the bellows is compressed, the air is expelled out the handle, when the bellows pulled and expanded, air is sucked in from the mouthpiece. Construction of bellows and masks is good. No weaknesses or problems observed.Mouthpiece note: The seal is made from an inflated and sealed thin-wall tube of silicone. I see no way to adjust the air pressure within. At sea level, or lower altitudes, no doubt it is less firm than where I live at almost a mile above sea level. The tighter inflated tube will take a firmer pressure to seal the mask against the face than it would at lower altitudes. Be sure to test this.To use this, the mouthpiece tube is first inserted into the bellows end with firm "push and twist" motion so i locks on tightly. In use, the mask is held in position on the victim's mouth with one hand, the handle is pushed inward to compress the bellows so that the air within the bellows is expelled out the handle. Then, while holding the mask firmly in place on the mouth, the handle is pulled back briskly to suck out any obstruction in the victim's airway.This set comes with one child size mask and two adult size masks. The adult masks are identical, one is for practice to get familiar with how this device works, the other is to keep fresh for emergencies.This review is not intended and should not be taken as medical advice. All up, this looks to be a well-made reliable tool to have on hand for emergencies.

If you have ever had an emergency where your child (or even an adult) was choking, you know that every precious second counts in saving them. I feel so much better and confident knowing that if that ever happens, I am fully prepared with this device. It’s small enough to be portable and has a permanent home in my diaper bag so I always have it with me no matter what in the unfortunate event that I need to use it. I love that it comes with a practice mask so you don’t have to risk damaging the other masks when practicing how to use it. It is worth every penny in my book and every parent should own one of these.

Why keep it in your car? Still handy access when at home. And you'll have quick access to it when out eating with the family. You never know when something will happen, so keeping it in your car is the best place.Be sure to practice using it to ensure you understand how to get a good suction. The main thing is to use one hand to keep the mouth piece in place on the person's mouth when you push down then pull up on the plunger.

The Emergency Airway Suction Device arrived as described and pictured. It looks well made, is light weight and portable. I hope to never have to actually use it, but it will be nice to have with my emergency kit.

We got this airway suction device to be prepared for choking emergencies. The kit includes three masks (two adult, one child) and is easy to use, even without instructions. The suction power appears strong enough to clear airways effectively. While I haven't had to use it in a real emergency, having it on hand provides peace of mind.

This is an item nobody wants to ever have to use but it's definitely something everyone should have - especially if you have kids. It comes with mask sizes for infants, children, and adults to ensure proper seal and effectiveness. Also comes with very clear instructions on how to use. I have one in my kitchen as well as an additional one in my car.
