Andersen Storm Door Handle Assembly in Nickel Finish Traditional Style 2004 to Present

The storm door handle was very easy to install on my Anderson storm door. This handle is sturdier than the original. I am pleased with my purchase and the purchase price. I would recommend this for any looking to replace or change the look of their storm door handle.

Everything is nice, but the striker plate doesn't have the screw holes as pictured. Instead of being 4 evenly spread as in the image, mine had 2 screw holes in the top, and 2 on the bottom. None in the middle, or between the latch and deadbolt holes. I had to add one in the middle on my own.

Went to local big box store and they sold only the handle and the cover plates. What I needed was the guts, or what is called the "Mortise Latch". This kit includes the handles, covers, and the mortise latch assembly. Received and replaced the exact one that was in my door. It was easy to install since I saw how it just come apart and reassembled. It took me less than 10 minutes.

I made it work. Shame you can not match serial and model number and get what you need. This was just slightly different size, had to drill and cut to make it half way work for the latch, but without the lock.I guess they want you to buy a new door after 10 years

Description is not accurate, it does not fit all doors made after 2004. It was close, but about 1/4 inch too long to fit. If it fit, it would be a great handle, seemed sturdy.Returned and getting one from Anderson directly using the doors serial number.

The installation was self explanatory, I just replaced what was there. It works very well, what I had to do was. Make adjustments to the striker plate because the original installers work was inferior. Nothing I would call prideful.

I ordered this handle because it included the complete locking mechanism,which I was unable to get from a local hardware store (small or or big box store).
