MXRM116 Fullbore Metal Distortion Pedal w/4 FREE Cables

I've picked up a lot of metal pedals over the years. I don't play live with a big pricey rig, I just putter at home with a small Marshall amp. So I was always on the hunt for a cheap metal pedal that gave me a super scooped, gated tone. I wanted to match that dry, full, precise sound of late 80s/early 90s thrash.The MXR Fullbore beats every other metal pedal I own, hands down. I chained all my pedals together and played the same lick through each of them one by one, and every other pedal sounded washed out or hollow or too wet and sludgy. If you're looking for the closest you're going to get to an authentic super tight Master of Puppets sound for under a hundred bucks, I did the research so you don't have to. This is the pedal you want.

all out thrash. no chill. I bought all the best reviewed cheap metal pedals: bi-yang metal end,caline tantrum& behringer ultra metal. they can all produce awesome legitimate thrash distortion across different amps& cabinets I own.. this fullbore metal.. it is just that& always on fullbore.. even if you ease off the distortion & level knobs.. if that's all you want from the thing.. that& the effective scoop& functional noise gate make this a pretty cool pedal that is aptly named. the other 3 pedals I bought can do the same thing w/additional noise gate, however all of those other 3 have much more variance in the distortion. they can be dialed down & used almost as overdrive's (& all three of those also have that insanely tweakable midranges that make these pedals so sick). I like it.. I'm keeping it& use it.. I like all of them I just wanted to write all this in case like I was once; some of you were looking over all these pedals in this range.. this was the priciest one in that range of pedals.. those other 3 are pretty solid too. sorry if this doesn't help at all!!

Bought this to play "new metal" with 15 year old double bass freak son . Sounds like an angry pack of chainsaws. He says it sounds perfect I think it needs more low end but I am 42 he is 15 what can you do. The quality of this pedal is top notch though very sturdy.

Solid feeling pedal. I wanted something that would give me huge distortion, and this does it very well.The volume knob is a god-send. If you're like me (using amp distortion and living near others), then you understand the struggles of playing metal at night.Now I can add as much distortion as I want and still keep the volume very controlled.This pedal also makes your distortion very tight. It most definitely Djents.Something that is overlooked is the GATE button. When your distortion gets high, sometimes you will get feedback whilst not playing. the GATE button completely eliminates that.

A very well built item like all MXR pedals; I have several of theirs I LOVE, but this is just a little too heavy sounding for my taste; I love metal and hard rock, but thought thiese tones were hard to adjust to something that sounds more on the natural side and not like you just turned on an effect that just overwhelms some clarity; bass heavy and kind of hard to find a decent sound; I played it thru a Strat, a Jackson, and a couple of Ibanez guitars, and it was not very successful; I spent a decent amount of time playing with the sound too; I wanted to give this one a try though since I had never really messed w/an MXR distortion pedal...My 3 stars is based solely on my personal view that if you are looking for something a little more varied and more traditional metal/80's rock sounding, this is not really it for you; if you like grunge and1990's metal style, there are DEF. workable options. I love Slayer and was happy w/some like tones, but I really love their 'South Of Heaven' era guitar sound, and that was harder to find something even really close to that 80's album; I played it thru several amp types over the year and found it hard ti get a good personal match.This does have a hell of a punch to it though for heavier stuff :^)And again--Well made and solid item, and it shouldn't disappoint those geared to a more distorted-and at times overwhelming-sound. Good value too!!!!

I got this pedal because a friend recommended it to me. It is by far, the greatest metal distortion I have ever heard. It's not like the Digitone Death Metal pedal that sounds like nails on chalkboard with wayyyy too much gain, but has the perfect balance of gain to hit those highs and lows at the same time. It's all adjustable, and there's a noisegate, so even turned up all the way, there's no need to worry about feedback.

This has to be the worst distortion pedal ever. Tried and Tried no luck. Sounds like alot of bees buzzing.

メタラーが欲しがる音がここにあった！って感じ。よく歪むのはメタルゾーンでも同じことだけど音の太さがいいし、メタルゾーンは細かい歪み、フルボアメタルは粗くて荒々しい歪み。ゴリっと襲いかかるような音だなぁと思います。

Great Pedal. Heaviest of them all and the noise gate works seamlessly with it. I'll be buying another for a back up, maybe two.If you like massive distortion with nice frequency adjustments. This is your baby.

This pedal is fantastic for cutting through a band mix for nice solos on the high end but also has excellent bass for chugging metal rhythms. There is a lot of range in the sound you can get and the noise gate is such a blessing!

凄く歪みます。ARCH ENEMY、C·O·B、PANTERA等のコピーの時使用しています。最初使った時は、思っていたよりも凄く歪んだのでびっくりしましたが、自分としては好みの歪です。パワーメタル系とかは別の歪みペダルを使ってますけど。とにかくこの歪みペダルはお気に入りの一つになりました。

メタル大好きおじさんです。動画の演奏する音を聞いて購入しました。アパート住まいの為あまり大きな音ではギターを弾けない為に貸しスタジオでおもいっきり弾いてみました。 バリバリのメタル体感できブーストをかけた時の音は気持ち良い満足感を得る事が出来、買って本当に良かったです。私はライブとかバンドとかでなく個人でギターを弾いて楽しんでいるだけなのでこのエフェクターは大変満足出来る物です。 知人に話すと中古で見つけたのを購入したみたいで 知人は「他の歪み系は、もういらないな～」なんていった位 満足したみたいです。
