Who knows how long this has been going on? My wife and I bought a comfort cam for our twins almost 3 years ago. It worked great for them, and any time we needed support, whether it was for tech support on the initial setup or otherwise, someone was always there for us. However, we've been using this same camera for our 1 year old boy, and the following transpired. Our internet went out a couple months ago, and it turned out we needed a new modem. Ok, no big deal, we got that replaced and had to essentially reboot/reconnect all devices in our house. All but...you guessed it, the comfort cam! For some stupid reason, there is a design flaw in the engineering because you can't reconnect automatically through the settings on the app. No, it says you have to contact tech support. Why, I have no idea. This seems to be a very simple thing to design in the app, but okay, fine we had good experience contacting tech support in the past. Only now there is simply nobody at the wheel. Literally. NO ONE. My wife tried for weeks to contact them via e-mail (now the only option there is, no more phone line). I finally wrote some strongly worded e-mails, hoping that someone who cares would finally get involved, to no avail. My guess is nobody works for this company anymore. I believe it was a husband/wife team that founded and created this company, and pretty much ran it out of their home. I hate to speculate, but perhaps they got divorced and this was collateral damage; OR they simply don't give a crap about their customers and will let this company wither and die slowly. It makes no sense, let customers know somehow that this is the case. Why have an e-mail with nobody on the other side? You obviously removed the phone line for a reason, so what gives? The shame of it was that this was a good product, and would have received 5 stars if they just maintained customer service. Shoot, even if they just designed the app/product so we could have simply reconnected the device once we got a new modem, we'd personally be no worse for the wear. But when you design a product that relies on customer care/service, you damn well better ensure that customer service is in tact! So, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. If you do, just know that you will have NO tech support or any assistance, and if you ever need to reconnect the device for some reason, well, you are out of luck.","reviewRating":{"@type":"Rating","ratingValue":"2.0","bestRating":5}},{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"S***S"},"reviewBody":"This purchase was a gift for the father and mother of my first niece. Features are abound with this baby monitor, as it does what I feel should be quite standard in any premium cam: infrared, Wi-Fi, etc. The feature to pan and tilt are very compelling, as well. As far as the quality of the features, I found them to be very sufficient, and not half-baked.Here are some tips that might make it easier for you to understand if this monitor will work well for you:1. You should be at least somewhat technically-inclined! If you didn't need weeks of hand-holding when you got your first smartphone, you should be fine. Setting the device up was straightforward, but a tad bit long.2. Their technical support staff are very helpful, should you need ever need to call them.3. You should have a fast and stable internet connection at home and where you will be most-often using the camera (for remote viewing.)4. You should have smartphones or tablets that can access the features. I tested the app on iPhone, iPad, and Android without any problems.If you meet these criteria, you'll be happy with this purchase, though I do caution you that to use the remote features requires that you purchase an optional subscription (it's reasonably priced.)","reviewRating":{"@type":"Rating","ratingValue":"4.0","bestRating":5}},{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"J***M"},"reviewBody":"After spending countless hours researching monitors, I’m glad I came across ComfortCam. It does everything I want a monitor to do for us since our children are a little older. I'm also a big fan of the remote access feature, it's great. My husband and I use it all the time from work or date night. We also gave the grandparents access as well. Kids love it because grandma and grandpop can say hi through the speakers on the ComfortCam. We are very happy with this purchase and have told our friends about it as well.","reviewRating":{"@type":"Rating","ratingValue":"5.0","bestRating":5}},{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"L***B"},"reviewBody":"This is the second Comfort Cam I have used in the past year and a half. The first I ordered online from Amazon. I could not for the life of me figure out how to set it up (full disclaimer: I'm a technology dummy) so I called Comfort Cam's customer service number. But you have to be home and baby-free to walk through the installation on the phone, however, and I am always at work or with my baby, so the customer support staff offered to set up either an evening telephone conference after my baby went down, or a Saturday or Sunday telephone conference, so that we could walk through the installation over the phone. As a single mom, these accommodations were really appreciated! I ended up talking with Gene for 45 minutes on a Saturday morning - we walked through all of the steps, and had an overall delightful conversation. Turns out the antenna was broken on the first camera so Gene sent me a replacement camera at no charge.Fast forward almost one year. I moved into a new home and went to set up the replacement camera that Gene had sent me. (For inquiring minds, I didn't really need the camera the way my previous home was set up so I didn't set up the replacement camera upon its receipt). I was able to set it up on my own for the most part, but still accidentally signed up for remote access at an additional charge (note the above disclaimer). I called the Comfort Cam customer support to ask about a refund and I reached Gene again! He was extremely helpful and refunded the remote access fee in short order. Since setting up the replacement camera, I use it every night. Not only can I hear my baby crying when she refuses to go to sleep, but now I can also watch her dance in her crib and throw her blankets, stuffed animals, etc. over the rails when she has a hissy fit. It's hilarious. And I feel confident not rushing to her side all of the time because I can see what she's up to and know that she's safe. But more to the point, it's a great product with a great customer service team in place. Gene told me in our initial conversation that the company was started by a husband and wife team who wanted to create a product that they would use for their children, and that personal touch shows. It truly seems like a successful company with decent sized, professional operations but with a mom and pop touch. Doesn't get much better than that.The product itself has all sorts of functions. I won't list them all, but you can manipulate the camera pretty much however you want from your phone. And you can do it ALL from your phone (or iPad or other device if you want to pay for the remote access) - point being, you don't need another monitor to carry around, just your phone. And you can speak into the app if you want - e.g., if my baby is running amok, I can say \"Close your eyes baby doll\" and she can hear me say it and close her eyes (though she rarely does). I am very happy with this product. And, as stated above, very happy with the customer service. Gene has done an excellent job representing this company. I would definitely order this product again.","reviewRating":{"@type":"Rating","ratingValue":"5.0","bestRating":5}}]}]}}
