I’m using Siri to write this since I have extremely low vision issues besides having hand problems it doesn’t get better than this :-). I purchased this because I was having a hard time getting the lid off my diet cranberry juice bottle the regular item I was using to remove the lid, broke in my hand and I had to find a replacement. I found this. It screws down tight and then undo the lid almost immediately. I’ve never seen anything that works so easy. I just keep it in the top drawer by the refrigerator and it’s readily available for anything that I have to undo the top on. I’m waiting to use on the other products but so far it’s been a great success. I would recommend strongly this be purchased by anybody who has hand issues. Carpal tunnel makes simple things difficult to impossible. Over the past few years I’ve tried several openers, this is the easiest for me so far. Works well on jar/bottle lids up to 4” in diameter, if the lid is larger I either don’t buy it or look for that product in other packaging options.Those I’ve tried that worked inconsistently to not at all, for me:Various rubber/silicone gripper pads;u-shaped easy twist rubber gripper jar/bottle opener (available from a variety of brands and has 4 circular options to squeeze to size from 1 3/4” to 2 3/4”);Kuhn-Riikon Gripper Jar Opener (I love this brand. Until this purchase, this one worked best and lasted the longest, until it broke)I tried this item because it looked Simpler, sturdier and takes less drawer space, so pleased that it is exactly that. Sturdiness will be determined over time but so far it has been. If it doesn’t stand the test of time, the K-R brand is what I’ll go back to as my experience with that brand has been overwhelmingly positive. Hope this helps save you time and money.

I agree 100% with the reviewer who said: "This so called jar opener has nothing to grab the jar. The parts that should tighten on the lid are made of smooth metal. So, instead of grasping the jar lid, it simply slips around the lid. A damp towel would do a better job. This product is absolutely worthless." This was exactly my experience. I will add: It is impossible to use, and has caused reinjury of my already injured hands; would give it a negative ten as a rating if i could. The manufacturer should send anyone who buys this safety hazard a check for our damages. The product description is entirely fraudulent.The clever editing in these bogus product videos never actually show anyone opening an unopened jar (where you can hear the lid pop, and see the traction the grip has), just seeming to 'fit' the device onto the lid, (again, not demonstrating that it has any traction at all ) then a Very Quick Cut to an (already opened) lid being So Easily 'opened'. Thanks for assuming we were all born yesterday. In reality, it does nothing but spin and slip in circles, (since there is nothing but smooth metal in the places it is supposed to grip the lid) and causes real injury to people trying to use it. I'm only one of them, I have read other reviews that say the same. DONT FALL FOR THE BOGUS EDITED VIDEOS - THIS PRODUCT IS AN INSULTING INJURIOUS FRAUD.

Have had this for a few months now - and have been very pleased with its ability to accommodate and open jars of various sizes without causing undue strain to the hand. It's relatively small size stores easily.

This is so easy to use. Plastic handle is nice and large to grip comfortably. Turns seamlessly to open the stubbornness of lids. Giftable. Metal gears are strong. Speed of opening it amazing. Sturdy weight feels nice. Tucks away into drawers easily.

I have a old rusty one that my grandmother owned it is fantastic but this new one is worthless. It doesn't grab or hold onto the lid at all, the sides where gripping teeth are located are shallow and rounded so not able to hold when you twist handle. .i am very disappointed because I love the antique one just hoping to find a newer version not rusty
