This is a useful and excellent addition for the Pixel 2.
Just tried this out for the Google Pixel 2. The design and construction of it is solid. The cord is heavy duty so should hold up over a long period of time. The color is silver, thought it was going to be white. Plugged it to the original charger and the phone regonized it right away, and still does rapid charging. Plugged in headphones and played some music. Sound qaulity is just as good as the headphone dongle. Phone was still rapidly charging while playing music.

Works on Pixel 1. Much better sound than tiny dongle.
This adapter works for both sound and charging on my 1st Gen Pixel XL. I got this to try before I buy a Pixel 3 that has no headphone jack. The sound is noticeably better than little adapter that comes with the Pixel 3 (I also bought that one direct from Google along with this Moshi) Less distortion at higher volumes. More low end (bass). The AUX jack on the 1st Gen Pixel XL still sounds a bit better than any dongle I have tried. This and the Google small adapter, unfortunately, is not detected by PowerAmp on my Pixel XL as a USB DAC. But instead as normal HEadset/AUX. SO it can't use OpenSL ES HD and run at its correct 24bit/96khz. (I have a Fiio USB DAC that does work correctly.) Not sure if this Moshi adapter would detect correctly on the Pixel 3.This Moshi adapter does work fine on my Win 10 PC laptop. Have to adjust the output in device properties, but it sounds much better than the built sound card in the laptop. Will update once i get a Pixel 3 to try this on.

Avoid - Does Not Work As Advertised
At first i thought i was imagining things, but now confirmed, over multiple charging devices & battery packs. On my year old Pixel 2 XL - this is supposed to be a Google certified device - hey manufacturer!!Plug in Pixel to any charger - always charges fast.Plug in this device, then attached any charger - phone displays message "charging slow".Now plug in the headphones & start listening - the phone actually starts DISCHARGING.Example - this weekend i took a 3 hour car trip - running the pixel with this Moshi adapter, Waze & a podcast app the whole way. Power & headphones attached.Phone started out at 65% charge - end of trip was 33%. no bueno

A better solution is buying a phone with a headphone jack
It works but my charging speed sucks, and at times I find myself losing battery while charging and listening to music.

Does not work with headsets
This device charges my phone just fine. It also handles audio out (headphones) correctly with a Sennheiser headset with a 3.5mm connector. And, with just the headphones connected, it receives mic input from the phone itself correctly. When I add in the audio in into the Moshi adapter (via a dongle to convert the 2 3.5mm 3 ring tips to 1 3.5mm 4 ring tip), my headset will not send any mic input to the phone and the phone's mic input is disabled as well. What this tells me is that the mic input is partially working, enough to shut the phone mic input down, but not enough to take the mic input from the headset's mic. This is disappointing, as I asked this question explicitly, and was told it would work.

Works PERFECT!
For those of us with Pixel phones, this thing is GREAT. Charges from the car and sends audio via the 3.5mm cable into the head unit with ZERO distortion. No hiss, crackle, or popping noises. Just clean and clear audio.

Fast charging works great with my Pixel 3!
TL;DR:1. My Pixel 3 charges rapidly with this adapter and FIVE different chargers.2. The audio quality is fantastic. For more details, read on:Pay no attention to the reviews that say you cannot fast charge your device with the Moshi adapter. Charging rapidly works fine as long as you use a charger that supports Power Delivery (PD).I have verified that my Pixel 3 charges rapidly when using the Moshi and the following chargers:1. OEM Pixel 3 charger.2. Anker Power Port+ 5 USB-C https://smile.amazon.com/Anker-Charger-Premium-Delivery-PowerPort/dp/B01D8C6ULO/3. Belkin Car Charger F7U026 https://smile.amazon.com/Belkin-F7U026bt04-BLK-Charger-4-Foot-Charge/dp/B075R8Q1FY/4. Belkin Car Charger F7U006bt04-BLK https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GUVNHY8/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=15. OEM Nexus 5X charger.I have also tested with a bunch of old chargers with USB-A ports. They will only charge slowly, but there is no surprise here, as per the USB specification those chargers signal that they are a charger by shorting the USB data pins. This can't be passed to the phone if you have audio data going to the adapter over those pins! The Moshi adapter is a fine device.
