Women's Bay Braid Ballet Flat

I generally love Gentle Souls shoes. In fact I have been wearing a pair of GS shoes very similar to the pair shown here (except there are only 2 wider crisscross straps instead of 4) for over 1 year, almost everyday. So I thought I would buy another pair to back up the first pair and buy these. They have been in my closet for quite a while and only a month ago started wearing them. The sole of the shoe is not rubber like the first pair, in fact the black color on the sole edges have already worn through to a light brown color, which is visible on the sides and bottom edges; and they are slippery on certain floor surfaces. My original pair is neither wearing on the sole nor are they slippery on any surface. The tops of the shoes are fine. Would I buy these particular shoes again...no. Although I would love to buy the original pair again. I have attached pictures of both shoes top and bottom. The shoes on the left/bottom are the new shoes.

Because shoes are such an individual thing, I cannot give a blanket recommendation that this shoe will be comfortable for you. They are, however, very comfortable to me . . . so much so that I also have this shoe in black.They are very wide for a "normal" width, which may or may not be a good thing for you. They are also very flat. You will almost feel like you're not wearing a shoe at all. The description states that the heel is 1/8th inch. I ordered half a size up from my usual size, which is what I did with my first pair also.The straps on the black pair fade unobtrusively into the shoe part, but the straps on the pewter pair are a bit more evident, but still attractive.I thought I was "safe" in buying this second pair online because I owned an identical pair (or so I thought), and was sure they would fit the same. I should have realized that, as with anything made from natural materials, that they wouldn't fit exactly the same. The right shoe is a bit longer than in my black pair. This was not enough of an issue for me to return them, though.

These shoes are very comfortable. I bought them for work. I am a teacher, and I am often on my feet all day. This shoe has a flat soft sole. It feels a little like a barefoot shoe. I like that, others may want a firmer support. They are completely flat. I bought the black leather, and it is a little shinier than I expected, but still good. I wear between a 6.5 and seven, depends on the shoe. I have a higher instep. The size 7 fit perfectly. A 6.5 would have been too small. The elastic straps are soft and stretchy, not too tight. my feet are normal to narrow width, again, perfect fit for me. The shoes are very cute. I am going to order another pair in suede. They are expensive, but they look nice with my work clothes, AND they are comfortable for the whole, long, on my feet day.

These are my favorite shoes and this is my second pair in black. I also have them in bronze (and on my second pair). I didn't rate them for arch support because I have flat feet. They're comfortable, durable and great for travel. My first pair went to Spain and Morocco. They went to the Sahara Desert and through cobblestone Medinas. Three weeks of 5-7 miles of walking a day and they were great and my feet were grateful!

I had a pair of these that I bought about 5 years ago and I wore them to death because they were soooo comfortable. The leather was like buttah! This new pair is a little disappointing. Not as buttery and the color is a little darker but fit is still good. I wear a 10 and they are perfect fit, just not as comfortable.

Love this shoe, but I want and need the original Gentle Souls leather soles with curved rubber strips, not these new all-rubber soles that trip me up on floors and carpet. Please bring back the leather soles! FYI, this shoe fits true to size and is very comfortable. The pewter color and texture are excellent. I would have rated 5 stars with the leather soles.

I have two exact pair in black in size 7 and they fit perfectly from the moment I put them on. These are much tighter.I'm going to see if they can be stretched as the leather is soft. Don't know why they don't fit the same but the vender doesn't seem to have a 7 1/2 for the same price? The width is the same.

I own many pair of Gentle Souls and really like them. Additionally I own the same pair of these in a different color. I purchased the black ones to take on a trip. Sadly the first time I wore them they hurt my feet. Upon checking the inside of the shoes there is a seam that rubs on your small toe area making them unwearable. I would not recommend these.
