I take my workouts serious because a strong body will improve your quality of life because how can you enjoy life if you body is weak and not performing well you get one life and one body. Josh has taken champion bodybuilders powerlifters and athletes and made their performance better than ever with his variety of scientific based workouts like the ones in this book. Now if you aren't a champion how can this benefit you. I was 39 years old and in bad shape and since josh trained me with workouts similar to what you see in this book I am in the best shape of my life at 45 years old. I had the desire to workout hard but if you are driving without a map and you don't know how to get to your destination you are just wasting time. Now try the workouts in this book and I know you will see results like you never seen before because you will challenge your body in a way you never challenged it before and this isn't bro science without facts to support it these are proven workouts. So give it a tire get excited and fired up and take your body to it's maximum potential!

Great book
I own alot of Josh's books and they never let me down, lots of good information in here and really awesome workouts especially if your someone who loves to use alot of barebones training i.e barbell, dumbells, pullup bar and very minimal machines.

Josh Bryant hit one out of the ballpark with this amazing ebook! This is not just another book about size and strength! This is a book with TONS of teaching, coaching experience and success behind every sentence written in the book! The book is loaded with training programs, tips, techniques and exercises that actually work and don't waste one's time with empty words not backed by experience!The main feature I like about this book is it's categorized so that you can pick a body part that's lacking in size or in strength or both and go right to that chapter and get schooled on what it takes to succeed! The next thing I love about this book is it's backed by science and has references to various studies throughout the book!If you are after SIZE and STRENGTH then look no further than this Powerhouse of a book!You nailed it with with this one Josh Bryant!!! Thanks for making this goldmine of information available to those that hunger for knowledgeand experience that can transform anyone that's willing to be consistent and hit the pig iron!

The new encyclopedia for a new generation of lifters.
Just finished this and as a personal trainer i give this 5 stars as a great read for trainers and lifters, beginner and novice alike. Josh lays out different programs (one which im currently on and has brought great results so far), and explains them in a way that is understandable while still tackling the science and breaking it down in laymans terms. This book is exactly what it says it is and while their are older programs in it it still comes across fresh, so you dont feel like youve read this book before which i find with a lot of strength training books. Do yourself a favor and buy this. Its a valuable guide and tool for the gym. Time to hit the Pig Iron!!!

Programs that work but for advanced trainees
A superb addition to any serious lifters library BUT be warned. There are so many routines that may encourage excessive program jumping which is bad thing. The "flagship 12 week program", a great program and the heart of the book needs much more explanation and descriptions for most readers to follow as it has some advanced moves that the average gym goer does not encounter. Also some of the percentages for the actual lifts in the program are impossible. For example Zercher squats with 70% of your back squat weight are a darn sight impossible to perform. I dunno I'm relatively advanced and squat over 450lbs. Furthermore the authors do not explain how best top integrate the individual body part routines into an overall program. I know the title says proven programs and this book is all about routines, but some guidance on diet would have been a good idea. With that said do not hesitate to buy this book if you are an experienced gym goer.

Another great book
I have read every book that Josh has put out and every book is great in its own right this book is no different you are given great programs whether you want to get big and put on size or you just want to get strong and move the pig iron in my opinion I believe Josh is the new leader in the strength game for many years it was Louie Simmons but now Josh is building great strength athletes all over the world and me personally if he said to me run through that brick wall and you will get strong I would do it. The man knows his stuff lays it out for you in the book and just do it and you will succeed period.

Get stronger, leaner, and better condtioned.
Very simply, you won't have to try to figure out what to do next. I love books like this, that help you set a framework to get you stronger, more fit, and take the guessing work out of it. Whether your goal is to get stronger, leaner, better conditioned, or just want to have a challenging workout, this book lays all those out for you. If you are a personal trainer, strength and conditioning coach, or a fitness buff, do yourself a favor and learn from these two authors. You will not walk away without learning something new from this book.
