Great Elbow bag !
Nice Bag but you will need a real long tiny funnel to fill it.

Excellent Product, Don’t Buy Unfilled Version
I have several of these bags and love them. However this is the first I’ve bought unfilled and won’t do it again. The spout on this bag is absurdly small. You will need a funnel with a stem about 4” long, and the diameter of a drinking straw (or even smaller). I went through the house and found a half dozen funnels, none of which would work. I finally rigged something using a thin piece of cardboard that I rolled up and inserted into the spout, then put my funnel into my homemade straw. Messy but ultimately worked. WAY too much trouble though. This problem could be solved by just making the spout a little bigger so that a conventional funnel would fit. Filled weight about 3 lbs. UPDATE: Brownell’s sells a special funnel for filling shooting bags for about $18.

Fire in the Hole!
I bought a shooting rest for my Colt LE6920 M4 Carbine from the NRA and wanted to upgrade the small, inexpensive, relatively light-weight Chinese-made front bag that came on the shooting stand, as well as add a pillow bag and a Brick Bag. After seeing the various shooting rest bags sold on Amazon.com, the Protektor Model #2F Owl-Ear Front Bag, Small, was a great fit for my Colt M4 carbine's configuration when using 30-round 5.56 NATO ammo clips. The weight and substance of the Protektor shooting bags, as well as their quality of construction and materials used, and their overall appearance was head and shoulders above the 2nd best selection. I wound up ordering the Model #2F Small Owl Ear Front Bag, the Model #18F Pillow Bag, and the Model #16F Brick Bag on Amazon.com, to use with my shooting stand when dialing in my scope and laser sight on my M4 carbine and adjusting the iron sights and laser sights on my Beretta semiautomatic 9mm pistols and Ruger .357 Magnum revolvers. The Model #2F front bag was easy to solidly attach to my shooting rest with a length of paracord, and the Model #18F and #16F bags simply rest on the top of the shooting rest's frame, below the front bag, when firing my handguns. I also cut a length of spun fiberglass material I cut out from a welding blanket, then folded over and stitched down the raw, cut edges of the fiberglass cloth, to keep it from raveling and falling apart, to make a strong, durable, but lightweight protective cover to spread over my three leather shooting bags and my shooting rest's powder-coated steel frame to protect them from the powerful blasts of hot gasses and particles of burning gun powder escaping at the cylinder gap between the front of the cylinder and the forcing cone of my Ruger .357 Magnum revolvers when I'm shooting hot ammo loads in them.

the pillow bag would last.
I need that little bit of extra height, under the buttstock. The thickness and quality of the leather was a plus, knowing it would last a lifetime. One slight drawback was I had to buy a small funnel and sand to fill the pillow bag. A plus out of this was I could customize the filling to what I needed.

Not worth the hassle
This bag is not terribly good for anything other than looking good. If that is what you are after, go for it. However, when you factor in usability things get a little more complicated. IMO, its a little too firm/stiff being relatively new. The pliability needed to manipulate isn't there, and I'm not sure if it will ever be. It is usable, just not ideal. However, the biggest problem is filling up the bag. This bag mentioned it can be bought filled or unfilled, but I couldn't find the filled option. This is important because filling the bag takes a very specialized funnel. The funnel effectively needs to be thin, long, and relatively sturdy. I made do with a harbor freight funnel set but it took way too long. Overall, its nice but has limited usability and hard to get up and running without the right tools.

Buy the best; need to buy only once.
I just received this Protektor Pillow Bag and will be taking it to the range this weekend. This is the third Protector product I have purchased and like the others, it screams quality. I noticed at my last range session shooting 30-06 and 7.62 that my elbow was taking a little bit of impact on the bench top. Not anything serious, but annoying and distracting. That is where this pillow bag will come in and help me to assure my bench form is consistent and comfortable. The leather is beautiful and the construction is very robust. My grandkids will be using this in the decades to come. There is no way it will ever wear out. Buy the best and you need to only buy once.
