Q: what are the dimensions?

It's 16" x 7" and works great for my two adult 10 pound cats. They've never tipped it over, maybe because it's on a hardwood floor and it came with non-skid rubber on the edges. I specifically chose this small, lightweight style because it's unobtrusive sitting next to the sofa. Ever since I put it there, they've been scratching on it instead of their favorite spot on the upholstery right next to it. I also bought a similar one covered in carpet, but they ignore it in favor of this one with rough sisal. I also like that this scratcher isn't messy like cardboard scratchers, and it doesn't need to be replaced constantly.

Q: Are the dimentions that are given .... Measures 27-Inch length by 36-Inch width by 7-Inch height... accurate? Item was out of stock..so might be OK.

No. If the "wave" was flattened, it would be 27" long, but it is only 17". It is 11" wide and 7" high.

Q: Has the sisal been treated with chemicals? And what type of wood is the base made of?

The sisal is not treated with chemicals. The wood base is poplar plywood. Thank you!

Q: Could this survive snow/rain, be used outdoors?
