Super Heavy Duty key box that works just great! Highly recommended with you own combination. A+++
Super heavy duty with millions of combinations that you can set yourself. You do have to take two screws out of the back of the lock when changing the combination and reinstall them but it was very simple to do. If you can handle a Phillips screwdriver and are not a complete klutz then you will have no problem selecting any combination that you want. It would be easier to destroy the door frame and lock than to get into this key box. Highly recommended. A+++UPDATE: Question about an elderly person operating the lock box.Just to turn the dial is not bad at all. It is a mechanical dial lock and a little bit gritty and not like some $1000 ball bearing bank lock. It's more like one of those standard Masters lock that everyone had on their lockers as kids. Since there are so many possible combinations (a real plus in my opinion) it does, however, make it a bit tough for a person with poor eyesight or limited finger dexterity to align the lock on the correct combination. The other thing is that the lock is a standard right-left-right lock that you are assumed to have some knowledge of.To open it you must:1. Turn the dial a couple of times to the right to clear the combination.2. Continue turning the dial right to the first letter.3. Turn the dial to the left PAST THE FIRST LETTER in the combination to the second letter in the combination.4. Turn the dial back to the right to the final letter in the combination.5. Manually press down on the button above the dial to open the tiny key safe and let the whole dial assembly/little door fall into your hand away from the back of the lock box the and then extract the key(s) stored inside. In other words the key door is NOT hinged. When the key box is open it is in two pieces, the dial/door as piece 1 and the lock box and loop that goes around the door knob as piece two.6. Close the safe by replacing the tiny key door and manually pressing up on the door release button to relock the little key safe and spin the dial.Note: To initially determine what you want as the combination is a bit challenging and may be too much for an elderly person to initially set the combination. It requires opening the safe as listed above and then using a Philips screwdriver to remove a plate and slightly disassemble the lock itself to move around the little rings to set each of the three letters of the combination. Then reassemble the lock and you are done until such a time that you want to change the combination again. Sounds tough but it is easily accomplished if you closely follow the instructions. So my recommendation is to have someone younger and nimbler to initially set the combination for the elderly person and then they can probably use it with no problems. All in all I love this little key safe and would buy another one in a heartbeat! I give it an A++++

Very happy with this KeySafe purchase
After reading through many reviews on the different keysafes listed on Amazon, I ended up purchasing this one. While reading the many reviews on the different choices, I noticed how some had mentioned on other models the ease of programing the keysafes, or the limited combinations available on them. With this model, I noticed the only real negative I found was that some found it difficult to read the letters after owning it for awhile. I have not had mine long, so cannot comment on that. Another complaint I read on this particular model was that it was somewhat difficult to re-program the code. I found this as a positive. Think about it...if you use this to allow access to a key to something, you don't want it easy for that person to reprogram the code, do you? Yes, it was some work...re-reading the instructions to set it up, but I think it is more of a positive. I can also tell you that it is well built and heavy. I don't recall the number of possible combos, but it's a huge number. I highly recommend this product.

Terrible directions, risk of forever locking it.
Terrible directions to set your own code and no videos on YouTube.Mine is now useless because while you have to correctly input the code to close the box, the same code isn’t unlocking it again.

Attention property owners looking to use this for entry to guest (e.g. Air BnB)!
This is a great lock with a BIG WARNING.Personally, I find it strong, secure and simple to operate. In fact I find it very intuitive (and obvious). Which is why, after a few of my guests either struggled with opening it, or more often than not, didn't lock it again properly, I was simply dumbfounded. But how i think doesn't matter..... I can now state with 100% certainty this lock is confusing to operate to most people. Hard to believe? Yes. But I would not be taking the time to write this review if it was not a big issue. Even after "clear" instructions, this has been a struggle for me, so i now realize I have to list each and every step up to the point of relocking it.IN short: NOTHING is wrong with this lock. BUT to rely on people to "get" the concept and how it works clearly makes this a poor option for short term rental situations.Edit: ultimately I replaced this with a much simpler master tumbler lock. Have not had a guest issue since.
