CompTIA Security+ Get Certified Get Ahead: SY0-401 Practice Test Questions Paperback – December 19, 2014

The book has great questions but thought i was getting some performance based questions as well. There are no performance based questions in this book.Retracting my post if not for this book I would not have a job and would not have became certified. I would recommend this book to anyone with 6mos-15yrs of experience. This book will help you decide the correct answer on the test.Once you get to the flash cards you will start to answer the question and read it verbatim with understanding without looking at the flash card at the end of the chapter. The questions are given without the answers in the first section. Then the same questions are asked again, then you are given the correct answers, and why the incorrect answers are not. Then in the same section you are asked a flash card question (Exp.) What makes up the CIA Triad ? Then then the answer is revealed on the next screen if you have a mobile device kindle, ipad, iPhone, android you would swipe and see Confidential Integrity , Availability.

Excellent book, not only it is accurate on the responses but explains why the other options are wrong. It also gives you every acronym and its meaning, ports, etc.I studied late for the test and can say this was my main study source (also had a study group to discuss questions and doubts). I found that buying the kindle version of the book was the best choice for me. It gives you 1 question per page without the answer, the answer is in the next page.I highly recommend this book.

The book good at explaining and giving details. I would recommend other study guide to go with this one.

I passed on my first try!!! I used several sources while studying for the exam, however I kept coming back to this book. I find that it provides all the information one needs to study for the exam, or just to read up on the subject. Mr. Gibson is able to describe the topic with great detail for every audience. I will continue to use his books to further my studies in the fields of networking and security. Now waiting for Mr. Gibson to publish an updated version of the network+ study guide ;)

Here's the thing about getting a question book like this- if you go through it multiple times, you'll be very comfortable with the types of questions this book asks. I used this as a companion to the Gibson Security+ study guide on the advice of multiple friends and coworkers who took the test and passed the first time. I found it very helpful in prepping for the exam.

If you haven't read Darril Gibson's SY0-401 Study Guide, this book and the 400+ questions in it will be extremely useful. However, if you have already read his study guide, don't bother purchasing this. 90%+ of the questions in this are taken directly from the study guide with zero modification to them. You'll be wasting your money purchasing both, when you can just retest yourself from the study guide. Also, another reviewer mentioned that practice exams are worthless now that the test has changed the questions, I disagree. While these practice questions won't be on the actual exam, they still give you a good metric as to what your knowledge level is for the subject matter. If you're looking for the exact exam questions, you won't find them here. However, if you're looking for well worded questions that help you determine if you're ready for the exam, this book and the study guide have you covered.All that said, I would give it 5 stars because the questions are actually really good for testing your knowledge, but the lack of any indication that these questions are ripped straight from the study guide is pretty frustrating. It should be in the description for this book that the 400+ questions can be found with much more explanation alongside them in the study guide.

Passed my certification exam the first time! A huge thanks to this book! Although I am not at liberty to discuss the questions from the test, I can say for sure that this book enlightened on a bunch of areas that were covered on the test. But don't get this book if you're looking to study the exact same questions that will come on the test!! overall get this practice test question book, it'll really help!

I had 30 days to pass my test or risk losing my job. This book is well written and easy to read. You can get through at least a chapter a day and comprehend the information as well. This is very helpful when you are working full-time and studying in your spare time.
