Updated: I really like it, nice thick grains and easy to prepare
Updated: I have really grown to like it. I had some struggles getting the sweetner applied equally (powder), but found if I sprinkle it right after nuking, then add the hot water or milk, it works out perfect.***********************It truly has a solid steelcut flavor and texture, that they did perfectly. I didn't read carefully enough to know I had to add my own sweetners or that it was a bit more complicated to prepare. Most of my "travel cup" type breakfasts can be microwaved OR they can just have boiling water added. This one requires a nuking and then you add milk or water, sweetner or flavors, etc. The challenge is that this is so thick and gooey - a good thing - it's tricky to add the sweetner to it and get good penetration. There are worse problems I suppose as the flavor is top notch, excellent and thick and warming. Loved it. I think next time I will mix the sweetner into the milk/water and that will work better. Just caught me by surprise and our work "kitchen" is woefully under equipped ;)

I love steel-cut oatmeal the old fashioned way - but this comes close and it's great
I was extremely dubious about trying this oatmeal since I hate instant oatmeals. I usually make old-fashioned steel-cut oatmeal at home but heard good things about this and decided to give it a try. To tell you how much I like it, I've had it every morning and I just ordered 3 more cases; it's now my go-to morning cereal. Why is it so good? Well it's obviously quick and easy - you just tip open a tiny part of the top and microwave it for 60 seconds. You do not add any water. And I think that's the important thing here - this is real steel-cut oatmeal but it's already cooked and you're basically heating it up so no water is needed. If I'm not making that sound appetizing it's only because it may not sound great, but it is great tasting. The only thing I would say is that I love really chewy oatmeal with almost a brown rice-like texture. If you prefer your oatmeal much smoother, you can always add milk to it (sometimes I add a little almond milk.) But if you really don't like that chewy texture you might want to consider a different cereal.Highly recommended.

Takes you straight to Ireland!
Took me right back to Ireland. It’s perfect when I’m on the run and I absolutely have to get something in my stomach before I take my medications. That little cup fills me right up- I’ll buy in quantities now(Ps / also great with some cherry preserves) When we were in Ireland anf first tasted steel cut oatmeal we were absolutely blown away. We raved on and on to the innkeeper and he finally said (with a wink) “I put a drop of the Bailey’s in it, I did!”So there’s another serving ideaLol

I mash a banana and add one of those dairy creamer cups and it is the best breakfast! I think the price is right for ...
I used to buy this at Costco but as noted on several posts, they have stopped carrying it. I have never seen it with the dried fruit, so no loss there. I mash a banana and add one of those dairy creamer cups and it is the best breakfast! I think the price is right for what you are getting and it beats the price and calories of those oatmeal packs you get at the coffee houses. Only complaint, but not really, is that there was no true packaging for the product. I got a box with 12 lose breakfast cups.

BPA? Sad to say...
I loved the convenience of these individual serving cups of organic steel cut oats and found them perfectly tasty, but I won't buy them again unless the packaging is changed to BPA-free.I can't say for sure that the packaging does contain BPA, but I submitted my question directly through this family-owned company's website and never received any response. I am an optimist by nature and usually flow under the "no news is good news" rule, but that rule just doesn't fit this situation. Also, while BPA in packaging doesn't provide the same level of harm when kept at room temperature (as opposed to microwaving, adding boiling water, or freezing/refrigerating), I have also decided, due to the company's lack of response to my very valid question, not to purchase any of their products going forward. I used to regularly stock their brown rice and quinoa, but will go back to preparing my own.UPDATE 11/20/2014: STILL NO RESPONSE FROM THE FAMILY-OWNED BUSINESS REGARDING MY BPA INQUIRY.

the manufacturer needs to rotate the merchandise
I enjoy Minsley cooked Organic Steelcut Oatmeal. I travel with them. I ordered one case and received in January. I already packed them in my luggage for oncoming travel. Today I received the new case I ordered a few days ago. The "date best before" is older than the first case I received this year. The date best before of the first case is Nov. 12, 2019. The 12 cups of second case I just received today are marked with "Best before Oct. 1, 2019". It caused inconvenience that I had to switched those I already wrapped in my luggage with the ones "best before Oct. 1, 2019". Please rotate your merchandise. Thank you!

Quick and easy
Although one of the containers was smashed , and they looked like they were just thrown into the box, this oatmeal is good. It cooks up in 60 seconds in the microwave perfectly. The size of the bowls are a little small. Texture is good and they taste good. Steel cut oats are so yummy but they do take a long time to cook. Perfect for when you want something healthy but are pressed for time.
