Newer Technology NuGuard KX Protective Case for iPhone 5/5S - Black/Darkness

This case is awesome. I have gone through many cases and this is my favorite. It goes on quickly, and is snug enough to stay on. It's simple. All buttons are usable. Yes, you do have to press a little harder to power on/off on the top button, but the rest of the features more than make up for that. I found this somewhere else, but ordered via Amazon. I watched the videos online of them dropping phones and tablets onto concrete in these things, and they protect the device. That's the main reason I got it. They did a great job designing this. The finish is perfect; not too slippery, but smooth enough to get in and out of a front pants pocket. Great case. Highly recommended.

I bought this for my 5S and it is indeed a very nice cover. I am sure, by the websites videos of drop tests, that it will protect your phone in the event of dropping, but it will not protect the screen from being scratched by keys, coins, or what not in the pocket/purse carrying your phone. I tried four different screen protectors in a effort to find one that would work to no avail, so don't bother. The Zagg Extreme (regular and case friendly), Spigen, Spigen GlasTR, and another generic plastic film, none of which would stay on without bubbling up around the edges. I'm not sure if the 5S is thicker or not, but many people recommended the GlasTR to go with this case, but they were also using the old iPhone 5, and not the "S", so that could be the trick/difference. Thinking it was just me, I had the Reps at the ZAGG store try to apply their product to my phone with this case, and to also keep me from blowing another $40. They couldn't get the "case friendly" screen protector to work, much less the regular style (it was worse) to fit properly, thankfully saving me some cash. If you don't plan on protecting your screen though, this is a great case. If you do want to protect the screen as well as the phone, then don't waste your money, learn from my experience and expense.

Overall, I'm very happy with this case. It fits so snug on the iphone, while giving ample protection around the body of the phone and around the face of the device. It does not work well with any of the screen protectors I was using, as the rubber around the face of the device tugs on the edges of the protectors and starts to bubble along the edge. For that reason, I won't be using a screen protector. I'd rather have the clarity of the glass anyway and protect my phone against drops. Like others have mentioned, it is a little harder to press the power button, but I don't really have an issue with that. I also like the sleekness of the case, with just the right amount of bulk. One really big plus, is the grip factor of the rubber. Does not slide out of your hand at all. Perfect. Would recommend this case to anyone who wants protection on their iphone. Just know it's not going to work with most screen protectors.

This case does not offer the protection against an accidental drop that took place when I slipped and fell on the ice. The iPhone screen cracked, and as a result I am stuck with a repair that will set me back $297.As a result, I am going to contact the reseller and ask for a refund.

I'm totally sold on the NuGuard KX line. They're thin enough that it doesn't make the device super bulky like an Otterbox or some other brands, but the protection is amazing. While I was working in my garage today my phone fell about 15 feet onto concrete and landed right on one of the corners. Thanks to this case it just bounced a few times. The phone was perfectly fine, even though it landed face down after bouncing. I've had KX cases on 3 phones and an iPad now and can't recommend them enough.

I purchased this case to provide some protection to my new iPhone 5s. I do not use a screen protector, so I can't report issues there as others have. The case is thick and the openings for the mute button, speakers headphone jack and lightning jack are deeply recessed. I have not had any issues with connecting headphones, but I had purchased some of the 30-pin to lightning adaptors and those will not work with this case.PROS:- Good protection for all but the screen.- Touch ID for the power button is in the clear, so it remains useable.- Case material does not collect pocket lint.CONS:- Deep recess for the mute button makes it difficult to operate.- The power button is hard to press- adds quite a bit of thickness to the phone. (a trade off for protection.)

Good balance between solid protection and fairly slim design. Nice exterior feel - grips well, but still slides in and out of a pocket. 4 stars instead of five because there is no click action for the top button or volume + - buttons so its hard to know if a press has resulted in a change, and the case stiffness on the buttons has made it so that when I take pictures I'll get a burst of 4-8 pictures instead of a single photo. My daughter has the same case for her 5c and it has protected it well thus far in a couple of drops. I do wish I'd gotten a case with color since the black blends in with so many other cases, but the black was on sale and it was my first KX case.

The entire phone still feels slim with it. Have a rather smooth texture. Difficulty with pressing the sleep/standby button is not too big an issue. Recommend this as the best cover so far unless you are looking at something that covers the whole phone totally i.e. with built-in screen protector and ports cover.

Es la que uso y estoy muy satisfecho con la compra,la parte exterior es de plástico duro y el interior es acolchado, si presionas la parte trasera o los laterales se aprecia que el interior es goma, por el posible golpe en una caída, no para en seco.Es de una sola pieza y realmente no agranda el movil ni visualmente ni realmente al tenerlo en la mano o en el bolsillo.
