Q: Is the internal lining ( the shiny fabric we see in the internal pictures) waterproof?

I feel like it is. I had a water bottle spill and it didn’t sleep through the fabric.

Q: Why is the black one so much more money than the tan or green bag? is it because black bags matter?

According to my screen, the green one is the same price as the black one, and the tan one is only $2 less. Not sure how that equates to "so much more money".

Q: Is there a way to secure the firearm in the bag? Velcro?

Yes. But it does depend on size and how fast you want access. Full size 1911 can velcro in the pouch in back. A smaller automatic can fit in front zipper pockets. If you need fast access this is not the answer.

Q: What is the size of the mesh water bottle holder?

There is NO water bottle holder. You can find molle compatible bottle holders to add on.
