The real difference for me is the combination of mains power (no more batteries to run out and replace) with the convenience of usb connection and remote control operation. Wiring is on the thin side, making it easy to snag and therefore a bit tricky to install. On the plus side it’s thinness and neutral copper colour makes it more discreet than others and quasi invisible. I’m using it for a lamp so on continuous low level setting but other settings are a plus for more festive occasions. Highly recommend.

Brilliant USB LED light string. Remote controlled and works perfectly as expected. I fed them into a memorable wine bottle. (Emptied of course) The result is the bottle looks full of sparkly bubbles. Great effect. I love it, and my wife does too. I would purchase this again from this supplier

I’m concerned about its long-term reliability, especially if it’s frequently plugged in and unplugged.Remote Range: The remote works well, but you need to point it directly at the lights for it to respond.USB Cable Length: A slightly longer USB cable would have been more convenient for certain setups.

I like the USB powered version of these lights. We have no shortage of wall chargers left over from mobile phones and the cost of batteries will add up to much more, as time goes by, than running them on the mains.The lights can be controlled using a button on the USB plug, where eight presses cycles through all the available routines. Alternatively an infra red remote has eight presets for the sequencing and the option to set a timer and vary the brightness.Personally, out of the eight, I only like the steady setting, but this is only because the other seven are too quick. The lights would be very effective if you could set a very slow fade down/fade up routine, especially if you were using both sets intermingled. Unfortunately you can’t and the rapid flicker is annoying to some of us, leaving, “always on”, as the one option.The lights are bright with a nice warm white hue - five stars

Perfect for many occasions, in the campervan, shed, or in the home. Can think of some many ways these can be used, and love that they're dimable too. Great price and arrived on time.

Good length and coppers appears durable. 2 inconvenient issues to advise upon. Does not have memory of last light so defaults to number 1(combination) and will not switch on without remote if using a smart timer so it’s best to plug into mains and let it run on the timer. (No timer instructions so it’s just a matter of powering on the lights and selecting timer on the remote and hope for the best)

These are lovely. They are a bit fiddly if you are not careful unwinding them but once they are up they are so cute and look really pretty. I have them the whole way around the lounge ceiling and it was a perfect fit with the pair. I like that you can change the light pattern or just have still lights. The remote is great for laziness and these are way better than battery operated ones. I got them for Christmas but have left them up and use them in the evening.
