ICY DOCK
Unit works great. Make system look very intimidating. As of this writing, this unit started giving me issues after about five or six months. I had to reassemble the system and move things around to get power to it. All of the slots at different times would drop power. Now I have power on only the middle ones, no power on the first or the fifth slot. I am unable to use any drive in them. This also affected my sd/cf card reader in that it would drop out of my system and no cards could be read. I have replaced the whole unit with a model that has no circuit board and, but will only support 4 drives. I have not had any issues with drives not powering up or my card reader dropping out of the system. I am unable to determine what was causing this problem, but I am suspecting an issue with the onboard circuit card. I have had it too long in an attempt to work the issues out and I can't expect a replacement. I like it, but it just doesn't work.

Disappointed purchase
As widely reported the doors do not remain closed. After spending a fair amount of time retrying you MAY get them to stay close for awhile, but then the slightest bump and they will pop open again. I would suggest you look elsewhere for a 5-bay. The reports of this problem are too widespread to believe its a one off defect. It's my own fault, I should have read the reviews before the purchase. The root cause is that the case does not remain perfectly square. It is not ridged enough to keep its shape, and as a result the latches on the doors don't seed correctly when you instrall it in a case, as the center of the device sags under its own weight. The solution is less clear, you basically have to place a stiff metal plate under the device so that it keeps it shape and doesn't sag. At least that's what fixed it for me. Poor design, clearly wasn't tested in the real world.

My unit came busted, not sure if it was shipping or a quality issue. Seems to do what it's supposed to, comes with a decent size fan in the back with a switch. I would have returned it, had I noticed the defect before tossing the packaging. So far it does what it is supposed to, but the quality in ICY DOCK's manufacturing might need an audit (2 busted latches and finicky light switches).*UPDATE MAY 21st, 2016. Well, I tossed it, the latching mechanisms are just junk, I don't think this one was thouroughly tested enough before getting put on the market. I strongly suggest skipping this one. IcyDock usually puts out decent stuff, but this one's a dud. Think I will try my luck with a rosewill 4 drive 3x5.25 setup. Classified --JUNK.

Some don't latch well
Bought three of these for 15 total bays. Closing the one next to another caused the previous to unlatch and pop open either due to the spring that holds the drive being so stiff or the latch being too weak. Very disappointed. Was able to tweak the spring allowing for doors to stay latched.Additionally, door latches are clunky, feel very fragile and seem made of cheap plastic. Absolutely nothing like the previous tray-use Icy Dock product I was using before all the while paying 15% more.Certain Seagate drive also were tough or impossible to get to fit. Can't say I'd recommend.

Don't buy.
I had the same problem as others with the doors not staying latched. Closing one door causes the one next to it to pop open. Junk. Don't buy it. I'm going to see if I can return it.
