Good, sturdy indoor clothes drying rack
Here are a few things you may want to consider as you decide on which type of drying rack to buy.I originally had a 'Y' type clothes drying rack purchased from Woolworth's around 18 years ago. These racks offer the most space along with flexible positioning so anyone who does much laundry frequently may want to consider getting this type of drying rack.Over the years, several of the bars came loose and I used tape to hold them in place, though this cannot be done when the 'wing' bars come loose since there is nothing sturdy supporting them and gravity pulls downward, so they quickly fall loose again. Over time, most of the wing bars fell off and could not be held back in place.I was pleased with the rack anyway and it certainly endured well enough over the years, but I finally got tired of all the bars that eventually came loose even after multiple taping. I considered replacing the rack with another 'Y' type rack but then I saw this Honey-Can-Do DRY-01234 Commercial Drying Rack. The first thing about this that immediately impressed me was the apparent thickness of the bars vs. the bars on 'Y' racks which are relatively thin and therefore not as strong and sturdy. I also liked that it was chrome plated steel vs. weaker wood or plastic. This rack can support heavier clothing like a pair of jeans thrown over a single bar, whereas other racks could not handle this and require that heavier clothing be distributed over several bars to dry. However, I want these to last for many years so in practice I would not make a habit of placing heavy items on only one bar to dry; it is much better to distribute the weight among several bars if possible. I actually put my jeans on hangers rather than any drying rack. The current product page gives these specs:The rack folds flat to 3-inch width for storage. It measures 41.5"H x 29.5"W x 15"D and offers 24 linear-Feet of drying space. The company offers a limited lifetime warranty.I purchased 2 of these from Amazon and am very pleased so far. The racks arrived in good condition, were easy to unfold and lock in place, and perform well. My only wish would be to have the very bottom bar placed a little higher off the ground so that more types of items could be placed there. Now it will only hold short things like children's socks. The chrome looks nice and the construction is sturdy and these racks should last a long time with proper care. Indoor clothes drying is also a great way to save money and energy.

A PERFECT drying rack - high quality
This drying rack is PERFECT. We had many wooden racks for years that were very rickety and tended to discolor over time, and we have a metal one from a Target store that we thought was OK, but compared to this drying rack, does not even come close. Take it out of the box, unfold it, snap the top arms into place, and voila, ready to use. We have two of these in our laundry room and they perform flawlessly. Our racks are very stable on our tile floor, with very little deflection when you put pressure on them - so they are not rickety at all and are, in fact, quite stable. The finish is all chrome and I would imagine it should hold up for many years rust-free - but time will tell. Regardless, even if I get only 5 years out of these racks, they are worth the price in stability alone, and not having to worry about discoloring clothing or mold and mildew - avoiding one ruined shirt due to wood-induced stains pays for the rack. Very pleased with this rack as it is a top-tier product. My wife and I do not understand why better products like this are not available from local big-name stores where the masses shop - it is a sin that consumers only have ready-access to inferior products locally. So, Amazon Prime fixes this situation quite well. As a result, we pretty much just stay away from the local stores except for food and dry goods. Enjoy.

Industrial strength drying rack,
This is a heavy duty drying rack. The metal will take a lot of abuse and you don't really have to worry about it bending unless you do something intentional with a lot of force. The chrome looks substantial and, at least at this early juncture, it appears you don't have to worry about rust either.Oddly though, like other reviewers, I, too, received mine with missing leg caps. I called the seller on the phone and within two days received replacements via ordinary mail. Given that at least two other reviewers had the same problem, the manufacturer/seller really should look into their quality control operation. But as long as they make good on easily sending the leg caps, no problem---I guess. Hey, what can I say. Think Iraq war. Stuff just happens!Further, upon first opening the rack, it may appear to be too tight to open. This rack is not riveted. It has screws. Loosen the screws a little. But only a little. Like an 1/8 of a turn. And not necessarily all of them. Over time, this may result in the rack becoming too lose and you might start to lose screws. So, beware. Look at the screws each time you close the rack to see if any are missing. I guess it comes down to, if it was rivted, it would be cheaply made and unable to be adusted. With screws, it's better made but you risk losing screws. All in all, I would rate this item as manufactured very well and very sturdy. The reason why I'm giving it five stars is because how easily the seller made good on its product. Had it been missing the leg caps and impossible to replace, four stars for the product and I would not buy from this seller again.

Rust after barely a month and a half
I had a rack like this years ago—not sure of the brand—that lasted for nearly 15 years. So I was thrilled to find what appeared to be the same rack—chrome, sturdy, slim profile. Unfortunately, despite living in a dry climate, only using this rack to dry clothes outside, and bringing it inside before nightfall, many of the rods rusted (similar to the photo in BD's review) after only a month and a half. It's useless now and going in the trash.
