Q: Is it spill proof from top

NO! The lid only keeps dust, etc out. If you move the container, the lid WILL NOT keep liquid from splashing out. I learned this the hard way. I didn't turn it upside down or anything. I just tried to carry it while filled; I didn't make it 10 feet before it had sloshed all over me and the floor. I had to completely transfer it to a different container before I could transport it to my event.

Q: This does not come with a base?

I just put in on my counter top with the spout over the edge.

Q: Would this dispense orange juice with pulp pretty good?

The spout should accommodate the pulp of most orange juices but may require more frequent cleaning to dislodge any pulp that becomes stuck.
