Good to learn on...
I wanted to learn how to make Cat 6 cables. So I turned on the YouTube channel and there were some folks who had taken the time to show me and others how to do it. I went to my local electrical supply-house and bought a spool of Cat 6 cable, bought a punch down tool and got going. These little termination thingies worked well and I finally got the hang of it... Enjoy.

These are the real deal, and what a deal they are. Perfectly functional, no apparent difference between these and the original manufacturer, quality, fit and finish are excellent, and the price is even better.

Problem with Pin 8
I have made numerous cables and use a tester to check continuity of the pins. I always seem to have a problem with Pin 8. At first I thought it was the cable, then changed each end. I finally decided to use other RJ45 connectors and voila, problem solved. Not sure why there is a problem on pin 8, the connection looks visually solid, but this has been the case for several connections. YMMV
