Insect Shield Repellent Apparel are revolutionary products designed to provide long-lasting, odorless insect protection. Recommended by the CDC, WHO and The American Academy of Family Physicians, the protection provided by this apparel is the end result of years of research and testing.- EPA Registered - Insect Shield products have been rigorously evaluated to assure that they will not have adverse health effects. The products have received the most favorable toxicity rating of the EPA - your child could even chew on his clothing with no adverse health effects.- Long Lasting - The repellency of this apparel is EPA-registered to last through 70 launderings. Insect Shield products also have a long shelf life. Garments stored for ten years have shown no loss of repellent effectiveness. Garments can be laundered, bleached, starched, pressed, etc., without effect on the repellency quality; however, they should not be dry-cleaned.- Repels Many Insects - Insect Shield Repellent Apparel has been proven and registered to repel mosquitoes, ticks, ants, flies, chiggers, and midges. Many species and varieties of these insects have been tested, including those that can carry dangerous diseases.- How Does It Work? - Insect Shield uses permethrin, a man-made version of a natural insect repellent found in certain chrysanthemums. The Insect Shield process uses a proprietary formulation of permethrin in a patent-pending system that tightly binds the permethrin to the fabric fibers of each garment. With Bug Smarties, One Step Ahead has incorporated the Insect Shield technology into a collection of children's tops, pants, and jackets that will provide them with stylish protection from insect bites. The built-in bug protection allows you to avoid or limit the use of messy and smelly bug sprays while providing your children with all-day protection from annoying and sometimes dangerous bug bites.

Cute lightweight "BugsAway" type jacket
This jacket is a great lightweight summer jacket to keep bugs away in the evening while outside/ camping. My daughter wore it in FL in the evenings in November (~low 70s) and it was perfect. It's probably too thick to wear in the heat of day... I think above ~75 F would get a little toasty unless you're in the shade. It's mesh, and the fabric reminds me of a lightweight "performance" workout top, but with a mesh-like pattern to it.Re sizing - my daughter is 15 mo old, and on the small side. For sizing, she wears Carters brand zip-up hoodies in a size 18mo, and I feel like this jacket fits nearly the same, maybe just a tiny bit bigger. So it's a small 2T - BUT it's stretchy, so it would probably be "fitted" on a 2 yr old toddler (vs. super baggy like on my daughter). We have to roll up the sleeves, and it goes down to her mid-thigh. knees, but it works just fine and we'll get 2 seasons out of it.I also bought the leggings (Baby Girl Insect Repellent Cotton Leggings by Bug Smarties, Dark Pink, Size 2T) and they fit similarly. One note - the pinks don't match. They're almost exactly the color I see on my screen - the pants are more "hot" pink/ fuchsia, and the jacket is more of a hot bubble-gum pink. Still cute together, just not a perfect match!

Too Small
The largest size was a 6/6x which I ordered -- it's more like a 5 which wasn't so bad since that is she size but it is small .. Either they need to make larger sizes or at least be true to their sizing chart. I material is awesome it very light weight - great for daycamp, camping, even just a day at the park. May daughter liked this jacket a lot but to bad I will not be able to get her another one since 6/6x is the largest they have.
