Cant stay stable long enough to make its first updates. Crashes. Takes multiple times to even boot without completely freezing.

Its a fairly nice device, if your looking for the basics! Things like microsoft office, web browsing, cameo software. I would not reccomend updating to most current windows or beta programs. Unfortunately I did, and it caused my computer to get a bad enough virus to have to completely reset the system 4 separate times loosing everything and still no hope unless I paid to get it fix so I did return it. Again, still 4 stars because its speed for downloads and content is the best i have seen on any tablet so far and stays connected to the keyboard very superbly well which is another great quality of a detachable tablet that a lot of tablets don't exhibit.

Actually, if I could, I would have given it a two and a half star rating. It's just barely makes the grade of OK. Basically, it does what it is supposed to do but I am disappointed with its short battery life; it heats up uncomfortably at the back; and it's VERY heavy for a tablet convertible.

This convertible Tablet/Laptop is a spiffy little device. I bought it to replace an earlier version that was not convertible, but was handy anyway. The small size is perfect for use in my main living room as it is not large and clunky - meaning it stows quickly when neatness counts!!I have been amazed by the speed of this device. It handles all tasks I need flawlessly and quickly. The old version was slowing down and had reached the end of its useful life. This version is starting out faster, better, quicker, and slicker than I was expecting. It handled its set-up dance with ease and seemed to get done faster than earlier devices.Money is saved by not having a lot of hardware on-board. Since there is a way to connect the things I use only a few times a year, I would rather keep that money in my pocket. Yes, the device lacks an on-board optical drive, but one can be connected via the USB port.To make things even easier, Acer will provide the operational files specific to this device on a USB thumb drive for under $50. Normally I would not purchase this option but with me settling into retirement, I will purchase this time saving short-cut.One might think the small screen would be hard on the eyes, but guess what?, there is an option to increase the size of the fonts and Icons - this works great for me. This option works great even-though I like to have multiple windows open at one time. Yup - thumbs up here too!Overall, I think this is a very good device for anyone not wanting to spend a lot of money on their shiny new toy!

Some heat build up quickly in the lower-left part on the back. Keyboard sometimes freezes in a laptop mode

This was ordered for my niece who is in college and needed a new laptop that was lighter and faster. She loves it and is very happy with its performance.

It was ok for what it was. I'm used to a powerful laptop, so I sold it soon after purchase.

Good for the money; not the fastest, but does 95% of what expensive computers can.
