I've purchased two of these now and they are great for hooking up my 50 amp service on our RV. I will say that I do put steel wool in the bottom where the power cord comes in to fill the gap, just to help keep rodents/wasps out of it. Yes, it's not the easiest thing to install due to the screws and lugs, but they both have worked great.

5 stars with caution note. There are no knockouts! To create an opening for the incoming wire requires a step drill bit that cuts at least a 1 1/4" hole. If you don't have it on hand then you are looking at a trip to the hardware store and a one-time expense close to the price of the box. Plan to throw out the ground wire and replace it with your own.

For $37 I purchased this NEMA 14-50R box for 50A/240Vac that fits RV or EV cords with handles but still allows cover to close. Installation on the wall was easy. One slide down screw plus two through-holes that allow for about a 1/4" bolt or screw. The difficulty was the knockout for the cable conduit. This box does not have knockouts on the sides or bottom. It only has guides for where to make the holes. I wanted a bottom entry and tried to drill one out. But I should have purchased the knockout tool. The 2nd biggest issue is that I used 6/3 copper cable but the box was not big enough inside to easily reinstall the outlet plate and press it back in place. 3rd issue was the short ground from outlet to box. I solved this by simply replacing with a longer green 8 AWG. 4th issue was the tiny screws to hold the outlet plate in place. With so much force needed to press the outlet plate flat I feared the tiny screws would not hold. So I replaced with slightly larger (but not much longer) self-tapping screws).So overall a 4 Star rating. Subject to change after a few months of use in the weather, and bugs and general usage.

Great easy to setup

Although on the surface it is a nice enclosure, there are two major flaws in the design. First, the internal panel is so far back in the enclosure, there is very little room for wire routing. Second, there is no knock out in the back and if there was, there is no room for wire of this gauge to come in and turn because of the first issue I mention.If you mount it on a post and bring the wire up from the bottom, it would be serviceable, but still tight on space for wiring. Area for the plug is fine.
