Built Like a Tank (If a Tank Were a Rubberized Cable)
This USB-3.1 to USB-C adapter just works… and keeps on working. We've needed 6‒8 of these for adapting older peripherals to newer computers. Other cables we tried have resulted in peripherals not being recognized. These? Everything's recognized! Other cables or dongles we tried have stopped working a month or two after use. These? Still working, years later! This company knows its cables, too! It also makes a cable that (after a firmware update) lets a PC control a Mac, or vice versa. Is this adapter a little thicker and heavier than competitors' products? Yes. If you want sleek, slender, and breakable… look elsewhere. If you want durability and great value? Buy this!

Does what I needed it to do.
Wanted to play music from a flash drive through the audio system in my new car. This adapter fits the port in the dash ("C") and has the connector for the flash drive on the other end. So far a perfect solution.

A Year in Review
I had bought this adapter for my Intuos Wacom Tablet. This tablet has worked great for me and my Mac Book Air 2023 I was worried that with the updated laptop, my 2013 tablet was not going to be able to function anymore. After consulting with the support team at Wacom they suggested this adapter because a regular Apple one was NOT going to work as properly as this one.In short. I bought this back in July of 2022 and going on a year with it. It functions properly, no kinks, and it is still in great condition. The sellers were very keen that I was happy with my purchase and included a letter with my order that in case anything happened I would be able to contact them directly. So overall, great product and a good trusted company.

It works
It works in general. Tried to use the one with AC powered devices without problems, but found it's not so good with USB 3.0 powered hub. Not sure what's wrong with it.Found the mismatch of design with public shared image. It's not the same.So it's not excellent, but good enough.

Solid, well-made cable!
You usually can't go wrong with StarTech.com products, and this cable is no exception. It's much thicker than the Sausung OEM cable that came with my Galaxy S8. Hopefully that's due to better shielding and/or thicker conductors...When you coil the cable up it tends to bend in nice sweeping curves, as opposed to the tight kinky bends that the OEM cable is capable of. And because this cable is thicker than the OEM cable, it can't be coiled as tightly. These are both pluses in my opinion. If you are looking for a cable for a semi-permanent connection to something like an external hard drive then this would be a great choice for that purpose. My Galaxy S8 confirms that the cable supports Fast Charging. However this is locked-down corporate phone that doesn't allow data transfers, so I can't tell whether or not this cable actually supports data, or at what speed. FWIW, at StarTech.com it's described as "USB 3.1 Gen 2 - 10 Gbit/s".

Works with Cinitq Pro 13
I needed to get a longer cord to connect my Wacom Cintiq Pro 13 to my new Mac Mini. My old iMac had a MiniDV port and the Cintiq came with the Wacom Link and a short 1 meter USB-C cable to connect to the link and the link split out into a USB-2 and a mini DV. But the new Mac mini doesn't have a mini DV port. Only USB-C. The 1 meter long USB-C cable worked... but was not long enough for my needs.I went through the headache of buying 5 different types of USB-C cables, the first 4 did not work. Wacom support was no help. Apple support was no help. Startech support finally came through for me and recommended the right one. This one. And it works great. If you're looking to hook up a Cintiq USB-C to USB-C, this is the one.
