It's been a long time since I tasted cane sugar and cocoa, and welcome back to this combination!This is an interesting product that comes in a pretty brown and green metal container that bears organic certification seals both from the USDA and Ecocert Brasil. "We guarantee that our fields are free from synthetic chemicals and fertilizers, and all ingredients are Non-GMO." Ingredients are listed as follows: Organic cane sugar Organic dutch-process cocoa powder Natural malt flavor Soy lecithin Organic maltodextrin Salt Natural vanilla flavor This works out to 16 servings per container 100 calories per 2-tablespoon serving 22.9 grams carbohydrate per serving 0.8 gram fat per serving, 0 transfat 0.0 (Zero) Cholesterol 10.8 milligrams sodium per serving (low) 0.8 gram proteinAllergens: soy. ...gluten in this product.Thought and effort have gone into producing this cocoa mix which can be used lactose-free if you have a milk substitute you want to add. Lots to appreciate in this product. I have 2 questions: A) what is organic maltodextrin? Is it derived chemically from organic corn? Perhaps someone can tell me in a comment. B) where is the inner seal under the very nifty plastic lid? There is indeed an exterior plastic band that holds the lid in place til you open the container. Since the product already involves so much effort --organic is effort, as you know--perhaps the manufacturer or distributor could add an inner seal. If you are successful in reaching the website or a phone number for this, please let me know in a comment. Website and phone numbers are on the container, but my efforts to reach were not successful. Wanted to make the suggestion. And yes, I've been enjoying cocoa made with this product for about a month, am just about to open my third can of this four-pack, have drunk the rest and I'm still here. Would feel better about it with an inner seal. With an inner seal in place, it would rate five stars. What do you think?

I was excited to try this product, as it contained much better ingredients than the usual processed hot-chocolate mix stuff. Although the subtle mint flavors are a lovely addition, I just can't drink it! I get about 1/4 through my mug before I have to toss it. Too bad. I will have to try toning down the sweetness by cutting it with some 100% pure cacao powder.

I am gluten intolerant, soy intolerant, and lactose intolerant, but I need chocolate on some days! I did my research, and found this product, which has just a touch of soy lecithin, which I'd like them to replace with a soy-free lecithin.I ordered one small canister, made a cold almond chocolate "milk" drink, and suffered no side effects at all. I have many chemical sensitivities, and must eat only preservative free or very nearly free, organic foods.I'm so glad I found this product. It mixes well in almond milk, and tonight I even tried mixing a bit of it and some organic preservative free peanut butter. It was great on my gluten free crackers!If you just want a really good tasting chocolate milk powder, I would highly recommend this product. It tastes great, it doesn't have any chemical aftertaste.If you wish you can add a dash of organic vanilla extract, and a pinch of organic sugar to make your chocolate milk even lovelier.Try it, I think that you will like it!

I've had this in the UK - but cannot find it so far in the USA. There is a very big difference in "Certified Organic" here in the States vs in the UK...and at least 95% of anything "soy" is GMO. The company also seems really non-responsive to inquiries (from anyone - officially involved in certification - or consumer/buyer.) And...it clearly does state on the back: Gluten (not non-gluten nor gluten-free as their ads state....so those of you who are gluten-sensitive ...beware.)BTW...even in the USA 95% of ingredients may be 100% organic while 5% may be...well, meh. So...if you are truly committed to real "organic" you may want to know more about this product before you imbibe it heavily.

this stuff is great except just a tad bit too sweet for me, however one can cut the amount used per glass. pretty easy to make.

I have always enjoyed a nice cup of cocoa, but I am trying to go organic whenever I can. I love that this is an organic cocoa and tastes better than any cocoa I have had before.

Why is the ad on Amazon saying Gluten Free but then take a look at the photo of the back of the label and under Allergies it says CONTAINS GLUTEN.Celiacs cannot have gluten so watch the false advertising then if you are going to say it is Gluten Free yet the label says it Contains Gluten.

It's organic and lactose free. With the protein benefit needed.
