A lot of bad info in the reviews
I read the reviews and the questions after ordering this, and was convinced I was going to have to return it based on what was said. It turns out there's a lot of bad info written about this. I'll try to correct a few items. Note: I have only had this printer for about an hour.Setup: Quick and easy, USB printer cable NOT required. WEP key is NOT limited to 8 characters, mine is quite a bit longer and was accepted with no problems. Total time from opening the box to printing 15 minutes, using the "Start Here" poster and downloading the software from Epson. The printer does NOT forget it's wifi settings when powered down. I had to do that when I changed the printer's email address and it immediately reconnected when I powered it up.The printer DOES work with Android devices. Download Epson iPrint from the play store. The printer WILL scan over wifi. I've scanned to my Android tablet using iPrint and to my PC using Windows 7, after installing Epson Connect, adding the XP-310 as a network printer, and using the Windows Fax and Scan utility.Print quality is very good, if slow when printing graphics. It's quite quick with text. The remote (email) printing allows you to customize your email address and put in a list of authorized email address that can send to the printer. Nice.So far, with one hour of use, 5 stars.

Hopes This Helps You
I just got this today and have already printed 50 pages so I thought I would write about my experience.1. Make sure you remove ALL the blue tapes holding everything in place, I didn't see the tape holding the printing carriage the first time around and it made a horrible sound in it's initial set up.2. It took me a little less than 30 minutes to set up and register. I did not have any trouble with snapping in the toners, it's clearly marked where each color goes. I also did not need the USB cable to setup the connection to my wireless network, it found the network by itself and I was able to input my password using the little screen on the printer - really that was probably the hardest part which was not really that hard.3. I have to say that the instructions were pretty easy to follow and the steps in the guide goes with what actually happens in the setup.4. It's not the fastest printer in the world but it does print within reason, it printed about 7 full text pages in about a minute in black and white and the pages that had color were a bit slower maybe double the time.I haven't tried to scan yet but I did make copies and it did a nice job.I've always had Epsons but never an all in one nor a wireless - I have to say I really like having all these features.

DOES NOT PRINT WELL a year later--ink issues-CONSTANT PROBLEMS
Purchased this printer for in home use...to print a few things a few times a week. Nothing major. Mostly black and white but wanted the color. SO-This printer worked great for the first few months. Then the black ink started not to print well. I figured we just ran out although the ink levels indicated we had plenty. I purchased new black ink and installed and it still printed the same way. I then went through maintenance process, checked nozzles, cleaned heads etc., and still not working well-printed very lightly but the color portion helped. After not needing it for a while, printed again and same issue. Bought another ink-same issue. After the cleaning and nozzle check it printed a bit well...then it stopped and prints lightly.I'm assuming I received a defective product as most reviews are good. I had another brand for many years that worked and worked and I tried Epson for my first time...and it is my last. I am purchasing a brand new printer and not any more ink for this printer. Two stars because if it worked it would be great-the wireless is fantastic.UPDATE: STILL frustrated with this printer...not sure why there are few complaints about the ink? We kind of sort of use this printer...and the ink gets used up so quickly. Just trying to print out worksheets for my daughter and it simply won't let us do this...although, there is a print in "BLACK" ink only feature. However, the Cyan and Magenta are practically out (which I rarely print color so this seems unusual) and it won't let us print. Buying a new printer off Amazon now...going back to HP-had the same one for years with no issue until it got to "old". EPSON does not get my recommendation!2nd UPDATE **** I have now read and researched that many new printers won't allow you to print in BLACK only although there is a feature UNLESS all of the inks are FULL. Clearly an action negligent to the consumer to allow PROFIT only from the ink. Going to a laser only black model now...this has been so time consuming.3rd UPDATE-April 7, 2015-I noticed that Epson has given certain updates to help extend the life of the ink. Well done. Prior to this,I FILED A COMPLAINT W THE BBB-ALL EPSON OFFERED WAS EXTRA INK-not quite my only issue. HERE IS A PRINT OUT OF A LABEL I NEED (TO SHIP MY BUSINESS MERCHANDISE). IT IS CLOSE TO A YEAR LATER AND I STILL HAVE THIS ISSUE 4 OUT OF THE 5 TIMES I PRINT. I JUST REPLACED THE BLACK INK CARTRIDGE-HERE IS THE RESULT. AGAIN-IF THE PRINTER WORKED-IT WOULD BE GREAT.

Good value for money, prints well, scans directly to pdf.
I think this is the best 'value for money' printer. It's a 3 in 1 that has wi-fi direct if you need it. There's nothing more to be said. It's convenient, prints well, and takes up waaaay less room than other multi-purpose inkjet printers. I guess there was more to be said. Huh, go figure!

Crooked printing, don't waste your money.
We bought this printer because it was relatively inexpensive and for the AirPrint, which is handy, but it is not worth the hassle. Every single page we have printed has come out crooked, regardless of the way the paper is in the machine. We have helped feed it, shifted it, everything and it is ridiculous. If we still had the box, I would be returning.

Satisfactory to an Extent:
A great multi-purpose printer. Simple setup. Fast printing speeds.A few annoyances:1--for those who have sensitive ears (still capable of hearing in the highest range), you will hear the annoying high-pitched noise as it prints and sets the ink cartridges.2--the top cover for the scanner is a dust magnet, so plan to clean off the top fairly frequently if you like things to be in pristine condition.3--when printing particularly small fonts of words (specifically if you print 2 or more pages on one side of paper), the printer loses accuracy: 'e' looks like 'c,' minus signs might not get printed at all, etc.

Wish I had gone with a better model of Epson
Don't like it as much as my last Epson printer. Seems more flimsy and the ink cartridges are also not the same quality and don't last very long. This product was cheaper than my last one, but for the quality I require, when printing photos of my art work, I should have gone with a more expensive model. I bought the printer on line and would not do that again, as I think if I had seen it first I would not of chosen it. I have always bought Epson printers, as I work with a Mac computer, and believe the Epson is the best printer to work with a Mac.
