I think this works best for kittens under a year old probably. A fully grown cat is not going to get the best use of this. It also isn't that sturdy. The sides are a bit warped.

The rubber tips that stick at the end of the wire brush easily come off and get stuck in the place where it meets the scratcher itself, which means the wire brush gets dislodged in the sharp metal end is hanging out. I tried to push it back in but I couldn't get it to line up perfectly with the tip and stay in. So I've just been pushing it back in every few days and hoping my cats don't scratch themselves on the sharp metal.I expected the brush part to be a little bit more firm but I'm happy it is not too hard so I won't hurt my cats faces.I have one cat who is constantly rubbing on things head to tail and she cannot get enough of this thing. Also seems to be useful in catching loose fur while she's shedding.Overall, I'm mostly happy with the product but a little disappointed at how quickly the ends of the brush fall out of the holders and how hard it is to get it to stay back in. I might have to try hot gluing it and hoping for the best. I would also hope that there would be holes on both sides that you can flip the scratcher when it gets worn out but unfortunately there are not. I do like how there are four holes total so you're able to move the brush around to fit the needs of your kitties.

Warning: this product will cause a lot of vacuuming and clean-up.Our cats shred through these every few months. I've seen a lot of videos, articles recommending all sorts of materials for your cats scratching needs. I prefer this one.1) Does not snag kitty's claws. I know how it feels when my nails snag on fabric, hair, etc. I couldn't imagine being a cat and a scratching post snags the claws. I haven't seen any of the cats ever get their claws snagged on this scratcher. Trust me, I watch them closely for any signs of trouble.2) It works. Hands down, both cats love this thing. The will go to it to scratch when they feel the need to instead of the furniture, the carpet, the door jams, etc.3) It was very easy to 'train" our cats to use it instead of our furniture and home. All cats are different. Please know I am only referring to what I have experienced with our 2 cats. These two are night and day yet they both agree this is the thing to scratch and this is what keeps their claws healthy.4) It's lightweight and surprisingly sturdy. I can move this with ease whenever I need to vacuum. It is compact enough to not be an eyesore. Yet it can handle the rumble and tumble play of the cats or even sleeping/lounging. One of the cats likes to move it around. It's light enough to allow a soon-to-be 2-year-old kitty the fun of playing with this where ever she chooses.As stated early on in this review ... this scratcher does come with a cost. Your cats, if they choose to use this, will shred this thing in a matter of months. That depends greatly on how often your cat(s) scratches and to what degree. I've tried other scratchers that give off less debris and my cats weren't as happy with them. I believe they actually enjoy the shredding and sounds as well as the feel of the power behind their claws. Go figure!Bottom line: If you don't mind the clean up this might be the perfect scratcher for your kitties. It comes with ready to use catnip to help attract them. It's fun enough to keep them entertained. We will continue to buy these.

It's Okay, although the pieces don't stay together that well, it tends to flatten out or slightly separate and my cats only weigh 7lbs and 9lbs respectively.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:My two cats love this game. They play with it a lot. It’s so cute to watch them lay on their side and try to get the balls through the holes. My only complaint is that they can actually pull the little balls out of it. I end up having to find the balls and put them back in it. It’s not a big deal, but it would be nice if the balls were big enough to actually stay inside the box.

my cats love this oversize scratch pad. its huge! and the brush is a bonus because one of my cats is old (19 years old) and HATES being brushed...but has itchy eyes and stuff so she loves being able to scratch and itch herself with the giant pipe cleaner brush thing. its soft yet hard and sturdy. the perfect mixture to stay strong and upright but soft enough to brush herself on too. my other cat hes about (12/13 years old) and just loves the scratch pad itself so much. he loves any scratch pad. especially this oversized one. its wide and long so they can sit on it /stand on it with ease as they use it so it doesnt flip over or anything like that on them. 10/10 cats love the thing and also love the box it came in from amazon LOL! this is the second time buying it for them and they love it more than any other kind of scratch pad that i have tried for sure..hands down !!
