VAMO Premium Universal 30" Car Roof Rack Pad Great for Transporting Kayak SUP Surfboard Lumber & Other Long Items

Needed for a weekend trip but wasn't ready to invest in a real rack system. Carried two ~25lb paddle boards on a 2015 Lancer at 40-60 mph for about four hours. After cinching down nice and tight, bent my roof in a bit, but it popped right back out with no visible permanent damage after taking the boards off. A few pieces of pool noodle wedged in various locations help with this. Higher speeds and bumpy roads caused the boards to bounce a bit, but a single line of paracord to hold down the front of the boards worked very well to suppress the bouncing. I just tied it from somewhere under the hood up to the front strap on top of the boards. Straps, buckles, and the material the foam is wrapped in all seem to be high quality and I would expect them to last a very long time. The straps are reinforced nicely where they come together. Nothing slipped or shifted at all during the trip. This was great solution for a weekend trip, but it will never replace a real rack system. If you can, I would recommend just making the investment, but this is a good, cheaper, temporary alternative.

I used this to put a paddle boat on my Chevy spark. It looked ridiculous but worked great and didn’t leave a mark. I wouldn’t try anything too heavy with it and they could be wider but worked for what I needed so it gets 5 stars. Great cheap solution.
