Ka-90 anode fixed stinky water problem.
The Ka-90 rod was purchased to replace a hot water heater magnesium rod because of stinky hot water at camp. The camp is intermittently used and the water source is a we'll. Apparently this material is less susceptible to creating hydrogen sh lfide than magnesium in water containing slight amounts of sulphur. The rod was replaced about a month ago and the water has been great. Before, one would feel and smell worse after taking a shower or bath than before. Now you feel clean. It was a great purchase for me. I am a happy camper!

WAY overpriced for what it is. Should be around $12.95, but when you need it, they got you by the cajones. A rod with a fitting glued on! It came in a timely manner though, bouncing around in a busted up topless box that could have held 50 of them, and dumped on my front porch. I installed it to replace the one in my new HW heater and the smell went away. But it's only been 2 days, and the new magnesium based on that came with the water heater worked for about 2 weeks. So I won't know if it does the job permanently for at least that long or longer.

Has been installed for 6 or more months now and no smelly water yet, Must be working as advertised. My question is why don't they come standard in all hot water heaters, I've never seen a magnesium anode not degrade and create a smell yet. My hot water heater was only 3 months old when water started stinking.

ROD HAD BAD THREADS THAT HAD TO BE CLEANED SO THEY WOULD NOT RUIN THREADED HOLE ON TOP OF WATER HEATER. ROD ALMOST LOOKED AS A USED PART. BODY OF ROD HAD TO BE CLEANED BEFORE INSERTING IT INTO THE HEATER.

Have used the Ka90 Anode rod in my electric water heater for 20+ years. It completely eliminates any sulfur smell that is common with using an aluminum anode rod with my well water,
