I appreciate that a company is still making a water filter for our old fridge since it is still in good working order.

Not sure what the bad reviewers were on about, maybe wrong type fridge. Works fine on my amana, fit nicely, took 5 mins to swap them and a few mins more to run the water and watch for leaks. So far so good.

I have an Amana refrigerator with a built in ice maker. In the past, whenever the water started tasting bad, I went to Sears and bought another Water Filtration System Replacement Cartridge, Replacement Cartridge Part No. WF401S, Model WF40 for $65.00 each. Recently, when I tried to purchase a new filter, they told me they no longer sold the filter, and that I should try to find it online. They also advised me to cut my water line behind the fridge and install an inline filter. I found one for $65, but I also found this Waterdrop WF401, which claimed to be compatible. I purchased one. I figured for $9.95 I could throw it away, if it did not suit my needs. It worked perfectly, so I bought 3 more to keep on hand in case this company stops making them, too. I figure Amana probably had a Chinese company build their WF401S, and the maker of this unit simply modified their design and started selling it for far less. It's hard to feel sorry for a company that moves all its manufacturing out of the country to save money and then charges an outrageous price for the foreign made product.

These filters work perfectly & are cheaper than the Amana filters I used forever. Amana doesn't stock these anymore for my old refrigerator that I don't want to give up.

Not only does this this filter work as it should but at 16$ for 6 months of clean water, it’s a steal. I’m tired of buying bottled water and this little gadget not only saves me money but it’s honestly incourages my family to stay healthy by drinking more water regularly. I admit that the taste is a little different then bottles water but honestly It doesn’t make much of a difference to me. The filter gets constant use with morning coffee as well as filing our reusable bottles for me and my wife. As a added plus, this company helps invests in clean water for children and families, schools and communities, such as in Kenya Africa with every filter you buy. Im complete satisfied and I’m a constant customer from here on out.
