Nuby Bamboo Pear Shaped Plate, Weaning Tableware, Suitable from 12 Months Plus

I recently got the Nuby Bamboo Shaped Plate for the weaning stage and it's a hit! 🥦👶 The bamboo design not only looks great but also makes me feel good about being eco-friendly. It's the perfect size for tiny hands and makes mealtime more enjoyable. Couldn't be happier! 🌟🌿

This looked good but upon a couple of HAND washes it developed mold like you can’t believe. Looks like they forgot or they don’t apply a protecting coating on the bamboo.And I’m supposed to use this for a child?Do not buy.

Can easily be pulled off highchair and much smaller then I thought

The Nuby Bamboo Pear Shaped plate looked like something our pear-obsessed boys would absolutely adore. The number of impracticalities though are putting us of using it.The plate comes well packaged as we find Nuby stuff normally is. Inside you'll find the plate itself as well as a 'top tip' and reason #1 why this scared us as parents: it suggests to apply coconut oil to the plate once a month to prevent from drying out and splitting...The plate is well made, being about an inch thick and is shaped recognisably as a pear. It contains 3 sections for different foods. We found the size of the sections to be a little inadequate, either it was too big for little snacks like banana, or too small for anything more substantial.The plate has a big sucker on the bottom, intended for use on a high chair. Whilst we thought that may have been super useful, especially as this thing would hurt massively if dropped on a foot for example, it did seem to cause more frustration for our 2 year old, and also limited it's practicality (you can't really use this on your lap).Finally, cleaning the plate. Normally the post dinner ritual involves chasing our kids around the house with wet wipes hoping to not get food smeared all over the place. With this plate however the manufacturer states that you should wash as soon as it has been used, and dishwashers are not recommended. We tried it in a dishwasher anyway and it seemed ok. I will update the review over time if anything happens long term from dishwashing...Overall, this plate is beautiful and feels premium, but practically it's hard to recommend due to the impracticalities of using this in a demanding household.

I got this in the pear design and it's a sturdy bamboo plate with a well-defined shape and three compartments; it’s got a nice weight to it and feels really durable. The plate measures approx. 24cm x 17.5cm (at its widest points) and all the compartments are 7cm x 9cm. The plate is 2cm thick but stands 3cm high because of the raised design at the base.The base has a large blue suction cup attached, ideal for little ones as you know the plate isn’t going to budge and it'll be safe from accidental knocks (and deliberate attempts at sabotage!) The suction cup generally sticks down quite well but it depends on the surface: it’s great on things like glass, marble and plastic for example but not so reliable on particleboard table tops or wood, despite the smooth finish.The plate is hand wash only and the suction cup can be fully removed. It’s a wooden plate though so don’t put it in the microwave (it will burn).The plate does have an odour to it, like other bamboo products I own; in my experience this doesn’t really wear off and is just a natural feature of bamboo. Also, the wood finish on the plate is generally nice and smooth with no wood fibres poking out; the inner and outer edges are slightly rough in places and could perhaps have been sanded down a little more but this may be just me being picky, I think. Overall a nice quality product, very durable and built to last.

I have noticed that the Nuby brand have been making a lot of wooden and more eco-friendly toys and baby accessories and was quite keen to receive this. Hit a really straightforward three compartment bamboo plate that allows it self to be stuck onto any nonporous surface with a silicon suction cup underneath that is removable. Hi the plate itself isn’t too heavy but certainly has a sense of purpose and allows the child to scoop up their own food with a spoon or fork with ease. Hi it is really simple to rinse and clean once it has been used and being made entirely out of natural bamboo is obviously a very eco-friendly and environmentally sound solution.I wouldn’t recommend dropping it on purpose however if your baby does manage to knock it off the highchair it is pretty resistant to drops as I’ve already discovered. I do really like the design and think it is quite cute!He has a quick tip if you are struggling to get the suction cup to work simply remove it from the back of the plate and leave it to soak in hot water and then simply rinse with cold water do not use a tea towel or anything to dry it as if you get any fibre is on the ring it massively reduces the effectiveness of the suction.

My baby loves this pear shaped bamboo plate. You do have to treat it with coconut oil every now and then but its worth the effort. I prefer these plates made with natural materials rather than plastics.The plate is well made, with no rough edges, its easy to clean. I like the little sections which is great to put little fruit and veg.Beautiful plate that encourages having fun whilst eating.
