I love this thing way better then the cheap wood ones.

Although I have only used it half a day , it has been great!First impressions when opening the box is that it's high quality and durable.I hang drywall and use this for marking the studs on when hanging ceilings , and marking other things. It works very good and I love it! Going to convince all my coworkers etc to buy one.I tryed putting crayons in pvc to hold it and it doesn't work out. This one allows you to adjust when running low, hold the crayon tight as well as give you extra reach. And much more great factors. At first I was sceptical to biybecause I have hexagon crayons and even tho it says it work with those I thought the inner part has circle shape and wouldnt hold as well. But I was wrong . The inner part is hexagon shape and holds the crayon great ! And I'm sure it holds the circles just as good.I'm glad I went with this product and as long as it keeps the crayon firm and doesent strip I will be buying more of them . Also note that I tighten it snug but do not use pliers so I won't damage it.Thank you for the great product!!

Previously to getting this holder--electricians tape around the lumber crayon to keep it basically in one piece if broken.With the holder it is protected so no electricians tape to try and keep in one piece and removing the tape as you used the crayon. The holder protected the lumber crayon from breaking and a convenient lanyard so it was always readily available when you needed it. The only negative was that you had to make sure that you tightened enough so the lumber crayon wouldn't slip back inside the holder.Also, I learned the hard way...never loan this to someone to use...still hope that I'll get it back.

Would be 5 stars, but you have to really crank down the screw ring to keep the crayons from slipping, but should be strong enough to do so if you are going to be needing this product. It has loosened up on me a number of times. Like the material and durability, I have beat mine up and is holding up just great, glad I purchased

Holds the 1/2" x 5" bayite ferro rod perfectly. The ferro rod does stick out when all the way in by about 3'8" but it is no big deal. Now the carabiner clip and the tiny tab it is hooked to, I fully expect that to break off as it is very thin. I don't use the carabiner and I put this in my back pack because I don't want to risk losing my ferro rod.

I got this for my husband to use when doing roof inspections. He was carrying around chalk in a magnetic pouch but it would get in the way when he was going up and down the ladder. This little guy is perfect. Clips on and off his belt loop easily.
