The Year of the Rooster: Tales from the Chinese Zodiac (Tales from the Chinese Zodiac, 12)

Oddly enough for an American the book does not quite flow as we are used to. However for a Chinese child and family it turned out to be the perfect gift. It seems they felt there was great honor and respect for taking the time to find a book in both languages, geared and directed for their child and culture. The pictures and size of book were well done and the product was worth buying when there are so many out there to choose from. I highly recommend buying the "Nat and Jules Cluck Rooster Plush toy by Grandmas Giftware witih it as well.

These are great books with a cute story featuring a Chinese Zodiac. My 3rd grade students love when I read them these books.

I have spent northwards of - I don't even want to know on Amazon, yet, I have never written a review.However, I was searching for Mr. Chin's latest book and saw it was on Amazon. I then saw it had yet to be reviewed.For the past several years it's a birthday tradition of ours to go celebrate Chinese New Year's at the SFS then just go hangout and stay at a fancy hotel afterwards.Last year we had a conflict and could not make it. My daughter was pretty bummed, because the highlight of the entire event for her is getting Mr. Chin's book (personally signed).Pleasant, professional, humble, and kind, Mr. Chin's books are beautiful in both their animation and storytelling. I found out who wrote the books, Oliver Chin, and emailed him.Oliver immediately replied, gave me very easy instructions, and mailed the book to us (with an awesome animation autograph included0 I paid by check and I believe the book arrive before my check. By no means am I encouraging anyone to try to take advantage of the man, but he is a great animator & storyteller, but even greater man.
