Makes temp sampling easier than standard probe but worth the $?
I'm giving this probe 3 Stars on account of its high price and vulnerable temp element at the probe's tip. Although the element is protected by the plastic tip, it's made of thin metal and I could see it getting damaged if drug quickly over buck shot weld splatter or a sharp edge - or left rattling around in a tool box. Just need to be careful with it. The probe is otherwise easier to use than the standard one furnished with Fluke thermometers especially when you're sampling hot objects - but for our weld shop the improvement is marginal. For us, the $150 would have been spent better elsewhere.

Good Product, just very expensive
I have used these surface probes for a long time, and they work well and give accurate results. They are very expensive. My only real complaint with the product is that the conductor tip is a little flimsy, and can break after many uses.

Small, durable, and well made.
Product is holding up well in our shop environment. I expect to order more as we are pleased with the performance of the Fluke temp sensor.

Nice small size, and fast response time.

expensive and cheap
The probe works great. However, the tip is very fragile and it doesn't take much for the metal band that detects temperature to split. Once it does the probe is useless. Not sure why it costs so much for what it is. You can buy the more expensive metal probe but it still has problems with the band and is it is almost 3 times more expensive. I have used both.
