Assurant will rip you off, and not cover your claim for any and every reason
If you are slightly interested in this drone - stop and read this review now.I purchased a drone for my step dad as a birthday gift. $750. I also purchased the $70 extended warranty Multi-Device Protection Plan fulfilled by Assurant (through Amazon). It was part of the listing for this drone--Amazon suggested we buy the two together. Turns out, this policy doesn't even cover drones! This information is not listed in their Amazon listing--but is on their website. False advertising at its finest. $900 down the drain. And each step of the process with Amazon and Assurant was like pulling teeth. Each entity was trying to shirk responsibility and found anyway to deny reimbursement. It honestly makes me sick to think about how this entire process went down. What's more, when I went through the process of trying to get a claim filed, the representative did everything possible try and not cover my claim. It was like they had a list in front of them of reasons not to cover claims, and they just went through each one to try and get rid of you.In the past, I've generally had good luck with Amazon and making big purchases online. But that's what it was--luck. Because I was lucky that I never had an issue with a big purchase. Both Amazon and Assurant attempted to dodge coverage for any reason they could think of.If I were you, I would go into a Best Buy or Sharper Image to buy your product and buy the protection plan in person. Get all of this in writing. But at least when you have issues, you have a place to go back into. You can talk to someone face to face. All I have is a computer and chat boxes--where people without high school degrees can dodge me and my claim all they want.

They Did Cover My Computer When It Broke Down
I bought this insurance for my computer never expecting to use it. Well it turns out I did have to put in a claim when my Lenovo computer had problems with the start-up screen and then developing lines and such on the screen after operating for too long. When I called I was transferred through to a couple of people to get to the right place. Then the first unpleasant surprise was having to send my computer off to parts unknown rather than taking it to someone local. At the time my mother was in a nursing home and my laptop was the only way I had to communicate with her because of the COVID-19 virus. No one cared. It wasn't their fault and I know they really couldn't change anything but some sympathy would have helped with the stress, upset and panic I was feeling. As it happens my mom passed away not long after contacting them.I ended up buying a cheap laptop through Ebay so that I could download the program I needed to see and speak with my mom. When she died I lost the shipping box that had been sent to me when I went home to bury her. I will say when I had to request another one to send them my computer they did send another with no problems. I thought the packing material was inadequate so I ended up supplementing it with stuff I had around the house. I did this because I really thought I was getting my computer back and I wanted it protected. I sent it in after backing everything up as requested. The next unpleasant surprise was I had no way of knowing if my computer was ever received. There was no email or anything to say that we received your computer and it will be evaluated in x amount of days. I was just getting ready to try to contact them when I received the email stating that the computer was not repairable and that I was getting a gift card to replace it.I don't question as to whether the computer was repairable or not but the last unpleasant surprise was that I have no idea what happens to the information on my computer. The email I received doesn't tell me about how it is disposed of. I took a lot off and backed up everything but still there was just enough stuff left to make me uncomfortable. I need reassurance from Assurant that my information has been disposed of in an appropriate way. After all the negative above I do want to say that even though everyone was pretty unsympathetic as to my dilemma with my mom they were still pleasant to deal with, I can't accuse anyone of being rude.My only quibbles with the whole process is that it needs to be fine tuned as to shipping information, having their customer service be a bit more sympathetic, and advising what happens to any information left on a computer that can't be repaired. There are really only two reasons why Assuarant gets a three star rating and that's because I really am uncomfortable having to send my computer off through the mail and because once it's declared not repairable I don't know what happens to the information on it.Having said all of the above, and even though I was disappointed my laptop couldn't be repaired, I am still happy with the fact that I was able to get another laptop of equal value pretty quick. I hope this new one will last a little longer than the two-and-a-half years the first one did. The insurance coverage is as advertised and they covered the laptop one hundred percent with no problem. I truly appreciate that as far as being reimbursed that it was easy and quick. I got my gift card within 24 hours of being notified of the no repair. The only thing that could make me happier was if Assurant reassured me on what happens to my dang information. Please?

Some of the best money I have ever spent!
I bought a rather expensive laptop for my daughter to take to college. Knowing she'd be away where I could not help fix it if something happened, I bought the Assurant protection plan. Sure enough, suddenly it would not boot one day. I contacted Assurant and they quickly helped set up an order to repair it at a local PC repair shop. This shop was unable to fix whatever the problem was. They claimed there was water involved and the insurance "wouldn't cover it". I thought I was out of luck... Imagine my surprise when Assurant refunded the entire cost of the PC!!! WOW!! This company honors their word!!!I have purchased few coverage plans like this in the past, but I will definitely be protecting future tech purchases!

Never again.
This warranty was a pain in the butt! You can’t use it until the manufacturer warranty is over, so you waste the first year of this. Then, when you do need to use it, they make you go into a place for repair rather than mail it in like other companies. Many of the repair places have short hours that aren’t convenient. The repair place I went to used parts from overseas that took forever to get in. By then, my warranty was up and their work is only guaranteed for 30 days. Well guess who’s computer fell apart after 2 months due to their repair but has ZERO options but to pay out of pocket for the repair?! This gal! Assistant will do nothing and neither will their choice repair company. And my warranty is over.
