We recorded sentences for this bird to say in response to my Mom, such as "Good morning, how are you?" and "What's in the news today?" We gave it to her at dinner tonight and everyone at the table had a ball laughing at the little bird's responses to us. Sometimes it understood us perfectly and sometimes it misheard us and gave a different response than the expected one, which turned out to be GREAT! because it made it more like a real conversation. My Mom said we couldn't have picked anything better for her gift, because she already has everything she needs and then some, but surprise entertainment is always welcome!Let me assure you that recording the sentences for the bird is NOT complicated; anyone who can read could do it because it was very simple. I highly recommend charging the battery (uses a cell phone charger) and then recording some sentences for the recipient before you gift it because they will love receiving a present that talks to them, especially if you use their name.The bird also plays simple little songs we all know, like "Farmer in the Dell" and "Frère Jacques", and warbles a multitude of bird calls. Overall, a very talented parrot! Mom absolutely loves it!

The first thing that came to mind when this came in was, Yak Bak. A popular 90s toy or rather a hand held device. That can record small sound bytes. Later iterations such yak backwards gave you the ability to say something and play it in reverse. New models gave us the ability to manipulate the sound bytes with multiple pre-installed speed playback filters and pitch control.Enter 2022 we have a parrot that can be trained to talk back to any one, partially. So the bird while very cute it has an animated head and beak. So be careful because that motor can break easily. While the parrot does have an actual parroting mode that repeats everything you say. It has conversation mode that allows you to train the bird. So you think of a question and ask the question holding the button. Then hold the next button and answer your own question and it will remember your question and will reply to any of them in any order asked. Ask a question get the pre-recorded response. The kids love it. They love the little questions and answer we gave the parrot to have simple conversations or so it seems like they are.Overall great toy neck and beak is easy to break.

It's about time I write a review for this. I purchased this for Xmas for my girls and after my purchase, I regretted it believing it wasn't as great of a toy. However, it became an instant hit! One of my daughter's was scared at first because she didn't understand why the bird kept calling her name! After many months, we still play with this bird and laugh when it repeats after us. Overall, it's just a lot of fun!

This bird is a lot of fun. If you get two birds, you get twice the fun because they can interact. The thing is, though, sometimes the interaction becomes a sort of feedback loop and the birds repeat the same thing over and over again, only higher and higher. Probably the best thing to do when that happens is switch both birds off. Other than that, in my humble opinion, you get plenty of value for the dollar, especially since you can just plug the bird into a wall socket and charge the internal battery up that way instead of spending a lot on regular batteries, such as AA, AAA and the like.

It's okay my MIL wanted it for my daughter and she has more fun with it and my daughter has nothing to do with it.

I used this to try to teach my VBS class their memory verse. The bird was easy to "train" to respond to questions. I wish it was able to filter out some of the background noise. If there was any other noise in the background, the toy would have difficulty responding correctly. Slightly smaller than expected but it was cute and kept them interested. I purchased as a Prime Day deal and would do so again.

Okay I have a kid with an obsession of birds so I thought this ne so cute for christmas and it was a hit he took this little guy everywhere.
