Tapo have nailed it - well done!
Tapo nailed it the button.I've tried so many different smart switches, needed something to work with alexa routines and home assistant but all have been tricky to set up and unreliable. something that should be so easy so many smart home companies got it wrong.Tapo have created a product that is reasonably priced , stylish , easy to set up, rotate , click and double click functions , reliable and works with alexa and home assistant. these will be my go to smart switches.well done tapo.

Awesome piece of kit, works with smart bulbs
This is very easy to set up and install, it's the size of a normal dimmer switch and is simple to use - we have it for 2 smart bulbs outside our back door and the base plate has stuck nicely to our kitchen wall, it fits right in. You can adjust the brightness and the action is almost instantaneous. The hardest bit is getting it added to wifi but if you have any tech savvy at all it's a breeze.

Can be programmed cleverly!
I have set mine to (1) switch most lights on with one tap, (2) all lights off with two taps, (3) TV lighting on when turned anticlockwise IF all lights are initially off, (4) lighting for night-time bathroom trip when turned clockwise IF all lights are initially off, (5) dim any smart light when turned anticlockwise IF that light is on, (6) brighten any smart light when turned clockwise IF that light is on. There are more permutations possible for the one switch if you use smart actions: If such-and-such conditions are met (time of day, certain devices already being on/off, then do such-and-such). I like the fact that it is magnetic, especially since I happen to have a magnetic bedside table. I got tired of making vocal commands to Alexa to switch lights on and off, particularly in the middle of the night or when guests are present. This is much more discrete and is light enough also to be carried in a pocket. Pity it doesn't have a finder incorporated inside it. It's really annoying when you lose it!

Works well, discrete and great value for money
Great to have in key places so you can turn garden lights on or other things before you get there.

Useful and works perfectly
Brilliant product. We use it with a tapo smart plug. One of those small, but effective, devices.

Feels a little cheap
Update 31/01/24:TP-Link have recently made some great software/firmware updates to much of the Tapo product line. Some degree of local automation is now available, when an automation is created in the Tapo app it will be identified whether or not it will continue to function without an internet connection.Original review:The Tapo S200B smart button is reasonably priced (at £12) with the outward appearance of quality, however it does not provide the greatest tactile experience as it feels quite flimsy/fragile and rotates far too easily. It is also larger than I expected when compared to say the Hue smart button (diameter 43.5mm vs 32mm). It is easy to setup via the Tapo app and thanks to a ~868MHz connection to the required Smart Hub (H100) provides decent range and battery life. Range is obviously totally dependant on obstacles and interference so will vary significantly.Whether this smart button will work for you will really depend on what you are trying to achieve. Within the Tapo ecosystem automation options are somewhat limited, it is certainly less customisable than other ecosystems. For those using Alexa all four operations (press, double press, clockwise & counterclockwise) can be utilised as triggers once the Tapo skill has been installed, which opens up far more possibilities and the capability to control devices across other ecosystems. I tested using this to control some Philips Hue lights and it worked fine, albeit with occasionally a little delay and using the rotary function to adjust brightness is a little clunky. Perhaps it works more seamlessly with Tapo bulbs which can be setup in the Tapo app without involving Alexa. For those using Home Assistant none of the buttons or sensors that connect to the H100 hub currently work with HA. I don't foresee an integration being developed any time soon as TP-Link does not make the API publicly available and devices that require an internet connection to function are not particularly popular within the HA community.Unlike most systems that utilise a hub/bridge/gateway, any buttons (or sensors) connected to the Smart Hub (H100) will entirely cease to function if the internet connection is lost. There is no good reason for this and in my opinion is a very poor decision by TP-Link, local functionality is an absolute necessity for a reliable smart home. Light switches or security sensors not functioning because of a lost internet connection is a really dumb problem to introduce. This button does also curiously fail badly at one of its main advertised features; being a smart doorbell in conjunction with the smart hub. At the loudest setting the doorbell chime cannot be heard through more than two closed doors in silence, let alone with any background noise, the smart button settings also don’t permit phone notifications meaning you can’t be alerted that way either (this can be achieved via Alexa). The smart button itself can only be mounted magnetically which is not a very robust way to mount a door bell and has no water resistance meaning you can only fit it in a porch etc. Really very poorly thought out.As possibly the only Tapo device you will frequently touch, it is a shame TP-Link didn’t spend a bit more making these feel higher quality, even if it added £5 to the price.

Simple, Smart, and Incredibly Handy
The Tapo S200B Smart Button has been a great little addition to my smart home setup. It’s small, discreet, and really easy to set up using the Tapo app. I had it up and running in minutes and paired it with my Tapo smart plugs and lights without any issues. What I really like is the flexibility—you can assign different actions to single, double, or long presses. I’ve got mine set to control multiple lights with one tap, and it works perfectly every time. It’s ideal for guests or family members who don’t want to use voice commands or the app.Battery life so far has been great, and it’s nice that it uses a standard coin cell, so replacement will be easy. The adhesive and mounting options also mean you can place it anywhere that’s convenient.Overall, it’s a simple and affordable way to make your Tapo devices even more useful. Highly recommended if you already use the Tapo ecosystem!

Brilliant idea, but not a replacement light switch
These are fantastic but make sure you know what they do before you buy and attempt to use them. They need both compatible switches, bulbs or smart plugs to work AND a corresponding hub.Once you've got them, they will control any device you can assign them to - they will dim Tapo's own bulbs or lights, switch on and off smart plugs and light switches.I initially thought this was a wired dimmer switch - it's not - you either retain your existing switch with a smart bulb, or wire a switch controller behind a blanking plate. If you do that, I'm pretty sure you can then fit this over the boxI use these predominantly for smart plugs that power lamps and they (now) do exactly what I want. With a double or single tap, they can have multiple uses.
