This is a Functional Battle Ready Flared Barbute Combat Helmet. A Barbute (termed a barbuta in Italian) is a visorless war helmet of 15th-century Italian design, often with distinctive "T" Sharped or "Y" shaped opening ofr the eyes and mouth.
The Helmet has been constructed of 16 gauge steel. It's very solid and good for SCA and re-enactment.The helmet comes with leather liner and chin strap.It is full size and wearable.
This barbutes features a low ridged crest forged into the top of the helmet's skull which served to strengthen the helmet without adding a significant amount of weight.
