Brabantia Fall Front Bread Bin - Off-White

I was surprised how tricky it was to track down a new bread bin. I saw this same item in John Lewis at a ridiculously high price then found it on Amazon for a lot less.It's white, simple, roomy, you can put things on top of it, and I'm hoping that the plastic rim which raises it a tiny bit from the work surface will prevent rusting - which was a problem with the last metal bin. Doing OK so far..

Very happy with this roomy bread bin. Holds two large loaves easily. The flat top is useful to store the bread board and margarine tub on, so everything you need to make a sandwich is handy. The bin is white and shiny - matches my kitchen - and is easy to clean.

Looks nice, functions well and can fit a number of things in it at once.. Bought this as it has the flat top so can store stuff on top. The top surface does deflect if you put too much weight on it though. It can dent easily too... Other than that, happy with it

This is huge. Most bread bins struggle to take much more than a loaf, whereas this holds a full size loaf, pack of bagels, muffins, all sorts. It is well made and I particularly like the magnetic catch along the top of the opening that keeps it closed. Simple and effective. If you are looking to store a range of breads, this is the one to go for.

I ordered this item previously but the wrong one was delivered. I sent it back and received my refund. There was no explanation, no apology or anything so I gave one star in the review...not for the product because it was the wrong one but for the poor service.However, with some trepidation I decided to order again from the same company as I had received my refund promptly and because the bread bin looked ideal for my purpose.It arrived in the time stated...good start but that was the case last time. Ok...now to open the package...fantastic, it is the right one. And there's more...the bread bin is exactly what I hoped for. The size is a little larger than my previous one so it can take a loaf plus some smaller bits. The colour is just beautiful and suits the kitchen well and with its flat top we can put things on it and as it has a fall front opening it is ideal.Despite the poor start with this company sending the wrong item I want to be fair and give 5 stars this time because the product is perfect and it arrived when they said it would. Thanks!

Bought 2 at same time, one for bread and one for buns, cakes, scones etc. I had had a stainless steal one, but redecorated my kitchen and need white, so i already knew they were perfect. Because it's square topped they fit a loaf of bread in depth ways so 3 loaves fit in at one go, or 1 loaf with 2 packs of a dozen bread/tea cakes. There are a few combinations of things that will fit in one go. It opens towards you rather than upwards, so there is the added advantage of being able to use the top as a surface and still access your bread no problem.

A very nicely made bread bin that is quite heavy but also sturdy. There is plenty of room inside and the design of the bin makes it easy to use the flat top as storage. This is not a small bin and so a good deal of counter space is needed - hence the attraction of the flat top for storage. I reduced the star rating here because I do not like the way I have to close the drop down lid. The lid needs to be pushed in from the top left corner as if the construction of the bin has taken it out of true and it isn't an easy closure. This might be a fault in this particular bin, it might be a fault in the Brabantia range.

OK. So as bread bins go, this one is fairly expensive. BUT. I have just put a large sliced loaf, two packs of biscuits, one pack of cream crackers, one pack of melba toast and one bag of prawn crackers in mine. and there is still some space to spare. The square shape is pleasing and it has a nice clean modern look. It seems well made and well painted. Flat top means you could stack things on top of this bin, though I'm not sure how much weight I'd risk, as I would not want to dent it or damage the paintwork. I bought the white option, with a thin chrome strip which is fingerprint proofed. It looks even better than pictured. Delivery was very prompt. Love this bread bin. Worth the extra few quid.
