They're continually improving.
I purchased these as a nice middle ground for me and the Boss. She didn't want to use alexa or an app, and with other (more expensive) options, you have to leave the switch on and buy extra gubbins. There are a few smart switch options out there, but many need a neutral wire for WiFi connectivity, as these are controlled with RF, there's no need for that, which is great, because my house doesn't have neutral wiring for the lights!Granted, I needed to purchase the hub for them, but that's relatively inexpensive too. I has cost me less to fit my whole house with these than it would've to do one room with a Phillips hue! When I first got into it, you needed to run an android device and an app called RM plugin to trick Alexa into thinking these were indeed philips hue. But as time has passed, broadlink have fixed their app troubles and released their own Alexa skill, meaning I no longer have to mess around with an always on android device. Great news! They're super easy to fit, the only caveat is you'll need a fairly deep backbox, you may have one but if not, you'll either need to replace it with a deeper one, which is a lot of hassle. Or purchase a spacer, meaning hey won't be as flush to the wall. Not a huge deal, and I was lucky in that my backboxes are deep enough. Just!

Fantastic...........well I thought they were
Fantastic, love this product I have installed 5 switches in my house this week and I will be replacing more.GREAT !!!!Changed my 5 stars now to 3.I fitted 7 of these switches and were great so I bought another 5 and all these were faulty.Worked ok for a day then the lights switch themselves on and off all the time so I am now very worried about the other 7 I have fitted. Please be careful about buying these switches...If the 7 I have already fitted keep working ok, then these are great switches but if they start to go faulty I have wasted a lot of money !!!!

A smart option for a smart switch.
If you're wanting to upgrade to smart switches you don't need to look any further than the Broadlink TC2. They look the part in any room and are very responsive.I have mine linked up with the Broadlink RM Pro and have the option to either touch the switch, use the mobile app on my phone or tablet or with the help of the RM Plugin app, webhooks and IFTTT I can use my Alexa or Google Home to turn the lights on by voice. My brother has LightwaveRF throughout his house and he says that unless you need to have the option to dim your lights and have a nicer looking app, these are just as good if not slightly quicker to respond. On a negative note, like with most smart switches, they are on the deep side so won't fit flush in a 25mm metal back box. I don't know what they would be like in a plastic box without the earth point but what I have found best in my house is to flip the metal back box over so the earth point is up top, pop out a cut out section so I can push and excess cabling out the side into the wall cavity and then carefully slot and screw the switch into place. I then have about a 2mm gap between the wall and switch that I close off by running some white silicone around it and smoothing it all off nice and neatly. You could buy an antiference 10mm spacer, and I have, but I think that makes everything stick out too far.

Very unreliable. Not recommended.
I bought this to link to Google Home (via Broadlink's RM Pro hub and some programming). It works but the switch itself is very unreliable. The front panel seems to think that it is in contact with something inside. Occasionally it will blink, toggling the light on and off, then the touch sensor stops working. Control via wifi still works. So it looks like a contact/touch problem in the capacitance switch. This problem may not appear but when it occurs it is very annoying. Many people have reported the same problem on the Internet.I contacted Broadink's support and all they told me is to tighen the back panel a bit. Obviously it does not work.I will not recommend this switch at all because of its unreliability.

One of the best gadgets i've ever bought!
One of the best gadgets i've ever bought! Had a noisy light switch on the bathroom, that at night disturbed others in the house. This is a great touch/swipe light switch. Super easy to fit and a joy to use. Replaced the old one in seconds and its a revelation, it evens has a small glowing line arounf the inner switch area so in the pitch black you can see the switch. Superb.

excellent for 2 years
Gorgeous looking light switch. added a lovely posh look to the house. I bought 7 (between 1 gang and 2 gang) over 2 years. now the 4th one stopped working. I will have to replace them all. The money I spent on them was only 2 years worth?

Great - when you get a good one.
I ordered 1 if these and it worked great, I then ordered 2 more but unfortunately neither worked properly and would stay permanently on. Fitting the capacitors made no difference. I returned them and ordered a replacement from the same seller and one from a different seller, this time both seem to be working ok. So basically if you get a good one they are great but be prepared to send them back till you get a good one. I have mine linked to Amazon Echo via a broadlink RM pro plugin and it works a treat. If you want to know how to get them working with Echo check out the great videos on youtube from a guy called Paul Hibbert.

Like it, however....
Like it, however extra electronics mean likely you will need a deeper hole in your the wall for it to fit flush or use a spacer.I can control it with phone app via my Broadlink RM Pro.I did get Alexa to control it, however have abandoned this as it was too much of a faf. There is a Broadlink skill in the USA for Alexa, however it keeps being delayed in the UK.
