Does this item come with a case?

no. all MAkitas at good value on Amazon come without a case unfortunately. I bought a case at size 2 for it. Makita generic case is just an empty plastic box but still handy to keep all bits for it in one place

It has an oscillation angle of 1.6° to the left and the same to the right giving a total of 3.2°

Does anyone know what year model it is!

The DTM51Z is the latest model, featuring the quick release tool change.

Can you use this for polishing ?

They do a sanding attachment but not sure about polishing , dont think so
