Initial impressions are good
Just received my jig and initial impressions are good. I like the fact that it is made mainly from aluminum and is fairly easy to set up and use. (So far, I've only drilled a couple of test holes in a scrap piece of wood.) Not shown in the listing but included in the product I received is a dust collection port that attaches to the drilling guide block with three screws. It is ~1-1/2" OD & ~1-5/16" ID, so will need an adapter to connect to my shop vac or dust collector, but I think this is a great feature. The instructions were not worth the paper they are printed on, but if you are handy enough to need this type of drill guide, you will not need the instructions anyway. I read other's reviews complaining about how if you have the drill guide raised for thick stock, the clamp will roll the piece in at the bottom. This seems easily fixed if you cut a scrap block of wood to the same thickness as the sides of the drill guide block and cut it to a width that fits below the raised drill guide block. Placing this block in the lower corner of the clamp frame will prevent the lower edge of the stock from rolling in. I do see a couple other opportunities for other product improvements (beyond providing a spacer as I describe above for use when the drill guide block is raised). First, it would be great if the markings on the sides of the device were calibrated such that they matched the thickness of the stock you are drilling. I.e. if you are using 3/4" wood, you just align the drill guide block to the 3/4" mark. The second would be to add lines on the top of the drill guide block marking the centerlines of the holes to the face of the wood. That way if you've marked a line on your wood for where you want the hole centered, you could precisely align the jig. Overall, this seems to be a good product with some nice features. I like that the kit comes complete with two drill bits, an extended driver bit and some screws to get you started. As with other reviews, I don't care for the plastic plugs, but they are easy enough to file in the circular file or junk drawer so don't detract from the rest of the kit.

I'm a believer
Some people have the visuaI ability to hold a drill straight. I'm not one of those people. With this tool, however,I'm able to get a fairly straight hole every time. It may not be like a drill press but considering the cost difference and versatility for on the job work, it's pretty damn good.

Designs flaws but "works"
It works but has some design flaws, the nuts to tighten the height get loose really easily so every 2 cuts you have to retighten the, also the clamp leadscrew has issues where if the fence is set to anything more than an inch high it will twist the board and it won't be flat anymore, had to use an external clamp to be able to use this with a 2" board, materials seem fine but the design is a bit frustrating.

Great tool!
This works great! Hard to believe it's so inexpensive. Instructions are easy to follow. If you think you may need one, go ahead and get this one. Cheaper than a meal for two.

Good product for the money. Gets the job done for a lot cheaper
I do quite a bit of weekend woodworking and use a lot of pocket hole joints. This is no kreg, but for the price it works absolutely fine if you're not doing hundreds of pocket holes every week. I actually prefer the angle and cut of this one better than kreg jig in most situations. You just have to be careful to not use the normal length screws you would if you're used to a kreg jig. These only use a 2 inch screw for 2x material compared to a 2.5 inch with a kreg jig. Only had about 2 weeks but have made quite a few nice looking pocket joints. Would recommend for the weekend wood worker. Easy to use. The only con is it doesn't work very good to use by itself when taken out of the housing.
