Best buy, still going w/o a hitch even aftr 4yrs
Ebac was suggested to us by one of our relative. We bought this in 2016 to deal with high humidity in Dec as the building was very old. It helped (not 100%) in not having moulds in evry nook and corner coz of dampness. Use to dry the laundry inside the flat with Ebac on and it use to dry up fast. Definitely removes the moisture from the air make it fresh and less heavy to breathe making the area warm. Functions are simple and easy to understand but its quite heavy to carry around as I keep changing its place to suck the moisture from every where(may be its silly me). Its not completely silent, sometimes the compressor makes little noise like a fridge. Emptying is easy and it shows red light when the water canister is full. You should/have to change the filter over time. And the water since its distilled can be used for ironing like I do (avoids limescale build up in iron). Or you can use to water plants.During winters (mostly Nov- Feb) I keep it running all day somedays at night but on auto mode with lowest fan setting. All in all its very sturdy has been going on without fail from past 4 years.Really happy with this dehumidifier so far. In future if need arises will buy the same Brand.

Wonderful!!
We moved into a 1903 house last year and have been horrified by the black mold and general dampness everywhere. After crying my eyes out at the state of my sons room, mold on the walls, his books and games, I looked up solutions on the net and realised that it was caused by humidity, not damp. I bought a hygrometer and found that the humidity levels in his room alone were 78%. Yesterday, my dehumidifier arrived. I'm crying again! This time for joy. In the first 8 hours of running it we've collected 4 pints of water, the humidity levels have fallen to around 50% and the temperature in his room has increased by 4 degrees. After just a day, I can't praise the thing highly enough. Its worth every penny.#################################################################################Oct 2012: Since we first had our dehumidifier, the difference in the house has been quite unbelievable. The smell that permeated throughout has completely gone, paper no longer goes limp if it's left uncovered, there are no more black patches appearing in all the corners, the house is much warmer and our bills have gone down. We have it running on economy all the time and it regulates itself very well. Coming into autumn its been very busy and fills its tank every 4 days or so. It's such a relief that all of that water isn't going into the walls. All I can say is that if you've got a problem with mould/humidity, bite the bullet and get one of these. The transformation is like magic and I can highly recommend it.

Plagued by a "leak" at floor level in my conservatory.
Iv'e had this problem for a few years and always thought that it was a leak coming under the UPVC frame of the conservatory. It always seemed to be at it's worst when the rain was really pelting down. I decided to give a de humidifier a go at the problem and I'm glad that I did. The carpet tiles used to be soaked with water at the left hand corner and I was forever lifting them and drying them off etc. The problem wasn't a leak, it was condensation running down the conservatory window glass and onto the tiled floor. The difference is astounding particularly as it's been pouring down almost all the time the Ebac has been operation. The tiles have dried out and the condensation problem is non existent. Probably a de humidifier of whatever make would have cured the problem to some extent, but I can only review the Ebac and it appears to be excellent. For the first week or so of operation I had to pour out a couple of litres of water every day, but as the conservatory floor dried out it may take a week to get any where near full. Certainly when I'm cooking, particularly boiling veg and tatties I have my window open and extractor on to prevent excess condensation appearing in the conservatory(adjacent to the kitchen). I'm much more careful about steam in the kitchen after realising just how much can go into the air from a pan of simmering water. The de humidifier does the job and my Electricity bill hasn't leapt upwards. It gives out a little bit of heat and the contols all seem to work well. I should have purchased one years ago.

Proud to be British
Years of washing drying on a clothes horse, showers, steam from cooking etc., well all that moisture has to go somewhere, in our case the walls. Mildew in the bedroom and bathroom persuaded me that we needed a dehumidifier. We have had ours for two years and I wish I had kept a record of the amount of water I have emptied from the tank.Apart from the structural damage that can be caused from high levels of moist air there is also the health issue, 45 to 55% RH is the optimum level and this machine keeps ours to just about 50%. Sorry I am rambling;* Solid and well built* Does its job well* Not noisy, well a little when the compress kicks in, no more than a fridge* Customer service - excellent* Confidence in their product by giving a five year warrantyIf there were something on this model I would change it would be to make the filters easier to change.I am writing this review as I have just purchased one for a friend who had a leak which soaked flooring. I took mine to her and she was delighted at the results. She is a self confessed technophobe and has a dislike of gadgetry but this she loves.
