Doesn't fit? Make sure to clean the melted plastic off the square shaft on your machine.
I started a return and called Vitamix trying to find the correct part number for my machine (Vitamix 5300). Turned out I just needed to clean the melted plastic off the 1/4" square shaft on the machine for the new part to fit. So if it doesn't seem to fit try a sharp blade to scrape back down to the bare metal of the machines 1/4 square shaft.I will just note the OEM Vitamix parts have a phenolic/plastic square hole so if your blade jams it tears up this $10 piece instead of your $250 motor. This cheap replacement has a metal insert that might be more likely to cook your motor; a risk I'm willing to take with my 10 yr old Vitamix that has only just cooked this part for the first time.

Poor alignment will cause more headaches than it’s worth.
Technically these work but they are not centered at all. You can visually see they are out of alignment when turning the hub by hand. Once you put the pitcher on and start blending, the blender shakes like crazy due to the misalignment. Continued use would likely cause damage to the picture which is far more costly than just buying the OEM part. Will be returning these.

These sockets are defective and wobble
The media could not be loaded. Purchased several month ago and didnt need them right away. Tried them and they damaged my vitamix because they are off center and not balanced properly. So i re-ordered last week thinking surely it was just a fluke. Unfortunately the new ones are exactly the same. They aren't balanced so they wobble and cause damage to our vitamix machines. Dont buy these it will cost you.
